描述

The Obyekt-602 (Объект-602) was a modernization of the aging T-72 hull. The original turret was removed, replaced by an experimental design offering significantly enhanced protection and a far superior Fire Control System (FCS). The turret also bore the cutting-edge 125mm 2A47M6 cannon, a purpose-built cannon, made solely for this type of turret. It was said the cannon could load and fire shells at such a fast pace that some engineers likened it to a 125mm machine gun. A Commander's Remote Weapons Station (RWS) was also introduced, equipped with the standard-issue 12.7mm heavy machine gun, though modified for a sleeker, lower profile. Though the hull of the T-72 remained, it was far from untouched, it was upgraded with better armour, and a more powerful engine. The Obyekt was deployed to the 1st Battalion for Combat Aptitude Evaluation "Undertakers". Its turret remained coated in red primer, a symbol of the battalion it belonged to. The Obyekt-602 hunted its prey without mercy, its cannon spelling doom for many an unfortunate tanker caught in its sights. Deemed a success, it received approval for production but, like the Obyekt-487 before it, this prototype was given a quiet fate. Now, it rests in a museum, The same museum where the Obyekt-487 rests, its crimson turret faded but proud, preserved for generations to behold.
