Reduced AI Combat Buffs

描述
This Mod reduces the Buffs the AI gets in the campaign. Unfortunately, there is no way to remove them in custom/historical battles since the battle difficulty itself is hardcoded.

The estimated Buffs the AI got in Vanilla (credit to GameMnke: https://youtu.be/kJqWTw706hI):
Edit: The melee attack buffs seem to be invalid. Thus, i have decided to remove the debuffs.

Hard:
+3 Morale
+3 Melee Attack (Probably invalid)
+ 6 Accuracy
+ 12 (?) Reload

Very Hard:
+ 6 Morale
+ 6 Melee Attack (Probably invalid)
+ 12 Accuracy
+ 25 Reload

There is no such thing as Legendary Battle Difficulty.

Unfortunately, there is no way of completely removing the buffs, because some of them can only be modified percentage-wise in the pack-files, but seem to be flat numbers in the battle difficulty. As such, the debuffs are as follows:

Hard:
- 2 Morale
- 6 Accuracy
- 12% Reload

Very Hard:
- 4 Morale
- 12 Accuracy
- 25% Reload

This Mod should makes AI Archers no longer a complete nightmare to deal with. Do note however that the balance of power prediction on the campaign map is no longer accuracate, since these debuffs are applied BEFORE entering the battle. Only in battle the Buffs listed above are applied to the units. Autoresolve still does not favor the player, so be advised.

Yeah its fine i just wanted to look inside the packfile and reverse engineer the effects you used but i was able to replicate it by doing some quick playtesting regardless. Thanks for your time.

No need, i believe you. In fact, i´ve had similar issues on some other mods where i wanted to take a look inside the packfile and just could not find it despite the changes being clearly present in game. My guess is that CA changed something about how the mod manager works - at least, that is the only explanation i have so far.
I also have not been able to find anything else about this phenomenom after a quick search, so i guess this is rather new. If i find out something, i will definitely let you know. Sorry for not being able to resolve this.

No it doesn't appear for me at all inside the data folder, i could send you a screenshot if you don't believe me.

@chickly poochley dougs Thanks for bringing this to my attention!. I named the file "Reduced AI Combat Buffs.pack", just double checked it. Maybe you just overlooked it? If not, i will need to look into this.

Did you name your pack file something like data.pack? its applied automatically even before toggling it in the mod manager and i cant find the pack file in the data folder at all.

@SwordNew Battle difficulty is fixed to "Very Hard" on Legendary and CANNOT be changed. Also, what if someone wants Very Hard Battle Difficulty, just without the annoying ranged stat modifiers? What if someone wants Legendary Campaign Difficulty, but without the ranged stat modifiers (just like @Smiley commented before)?
This is why this mod exists.

As far as I know, isn't it possible to adjust the difficulty of battles in the game settings after starting the campaign? Why is this mod made? What is the difference between this mod and the player adjusting the difficulty of battles in the campaign?

Great mod, I really love playing on Legendary because of the campaign difficulty, but I am not amazing at micro. If I could, I would play on Legendary Campaign difficulty and Normal Battle difficulty. Sadly there is no such option, so this mod is perfect for me. This also means I can finally play the Chosokabe and actually rely on ranged units. Thank you so much for making this!

@Arthillidan The info about melee attack buff seems to come from some old dev interviews. But you are correct, there is nothing to really back this up. I have thought about removing the melee attack debuffs since a while now and will probably do so in an update.

At any rate, thanks for bringing this to my attention.
