Cooking Items & Recipes

Includes:
  • Salted Meats
  • Making Bowls of Marinade
  • Jerky Crafting
  • Dividing Food between 2 or 4 Plates
  • Making Teabags
  • Boxing/Unboxing Teabags
  • Removing Cooked Omelettes from their Pan
  • Carving Wood Bowls & Rolling Pins

Meat and Jerky:
Meat in Vanilla can spoil quickly, generally within 4 Days of unrefridgerated erosion they become fully spoiled. Now Salting Meat will Extend that period from 4-8 days (Can still be refridgerated/frozen).
Marinade is a new Seasoning Ingredient that can be crafted, it can be put on various meals, eaten directly, or most importantly used to marinate Meats/Salted Meats for Jerky Crafting.
Jerky can be made from various Meats + Marinade, you will then have to cook the Jerky for 4 hours to complete the process. Jerky will carry over the name and nutrition of used Meat but will lose about 20% of their Value after being Cooked.

Plates:
Rice and Pasta Meals can now be divided into 2 or 4 Plates (Sorry Soups). The nutrition will be split evenly, same as the 'Divide Food into x Bowls' recipes.
This also frees up your Pot to be used for other meals. I like to use Plated Dishes as meal prep once I have my kitchen established.

Omelettes:
Omelettes can now be removed from the Pan, this frees up your Pan and allows for more sensible storage of any Omelettes you don't wish to consume immediately.

Tea Bags:
Can be made from: 1 Cheese Cloth + 5 Dried Herbs (can be mixed & matched) + 3 units of Twine + Scissors/Sharp Knife = 3 Tea Bags
12 Tea Bags can be Boxed and Unboxed for better Storage and Encumberance.

Carving:
Adds 2 Vanilla friendly recipes for Carving Bowls and Rolling Pins, Rolling Pins scale with your Carving skill the same way Spears do; meaning a low level Carving skill may net low condition Rolling Pins.


Compatible:
B42 Hemp & Tobacco
Expands Hemp & Tobacco products and recipes.

B42 Survival
Expands primitive Survival with various renewable recipes and items.

Getting "Recipe not learned" for jerky on a new save with only your mod installed. Where can I learn this recipe?

Yea I always lose my bowl when making jerky? What is the shelf life on jerky? I was expecting like months.

Does anybody else lose their bowl when using up all their marinade to make jerky? I've noticed that I never get a bowl back after making jerky.

does this work with project cooking or is it not compatible

Hm, I can't make marinade, even though I have every ingredient, there's no error in crafting window (i.e. there's enough light and a crafting surface). The max quantity in crafting window is 0.
The ingredients I'm trying to use are:
Salt, Pepper, 4 sugar cubes (I have 8 in inventory), Ketchup (should be full bottle, I don't remember I ate or otherwise used it).

As a suggestion, could you maybe add a drying rack, that would take something like 1.5 days to cook, but does not require fuel. And, when placed outside and it's raining, it halts drying process, so meat becomes stale, or might go completely bad. Same goes if mean isn't fresh enough - it would produce stale jerky.

Hola amigo! dejo mi humilde opinión y coincido con k123a12 sobre la duración de la carne con sal, creo lo planteamos en algún momento tener en cuenta a los que nos gusta hacer partidas primitivas o simplemente una partida lenta a donde no tenemos generador o simplemente hay poco combustible y necesitamos que esa carne dure mucho mas tiempo solo disecándola, coincido también que en IRL la carne secada con sal dura mucho tiempo. GRACIAS por escuchar a la comunidad siendo esto mod personal.:spiffo:
