Obyekt-487 "White Rose Of Sungrad" MBT

The Obyekt-487 (Объект-487) was an attempt to mount a new experimental turret to an existing mass produced hull, that of the T-95. The new turret incorporated a high-pressure long barrel 152mm cannon, which confusingly shared a designation as the original gun of the T-95. The design itself proved to be a success, passing the 1992 Sungrad Tank Proving Grounds with flying colours. The paint hadn't even been applied over the primer by the time war had broken out with a neighbouring country, and with the enemies pushing ever closer to the city of Sungrad the decision was made to send the prototype to battle with the best crew available. The crew performing admirably during the defence of the city, and wishing not to lose the only prototype of the tank, used it mainly for fire support, utilising the gun's impressive elevation to substitute artillery to great effect. The tank got the nickname "White Rose of Sungrad" , after a symbol of peace for the city of Sungrad. After the city was secured and the enemy repelled, the crew moved onto a different tank, leaving the White rose in it's incompleteness primer paint, preserved in a museum for generations to remember.
