Update status: Thanks to Tywinus Rex I was able to update the mod for Tides of Torment and it should be fully functional again


After playing with my other tank mod for a few hundred hours I felt that they are a little too "modern" for my taste in the long run. So after Tucanonerd pushed me a little in regards to the Dawi Tank concepts that GW came up with many years ago and that never came to fruition, I felt like trying to come up with a more traditional design.
These two tanks are the result:


Grudge Hammer Engine

This tank can be built from the Tier IV Foundry.
Its main cannon is strong against many large targets, its steam turret is okay against infantry and the crew also does its part. Ballistic Plating, high armor and an overall large healthpool does also make it rather tanky. It is rather slow though. It is capable of pushing through formations with ease, but once in a bad position, it is not going to be able to retreat quickly.


Grudge Buster Engine

This tank is overall almost identical to the Grudge Hammer Engine and it is also built from the Tier IV Foundry. Its key difference is its gun. It fires anti-infantry shells with a rather large area of effect.


Known Issues

None that I know of.


Compatibility

Should be compatible with basically everything.
Adding it in the middle of a playthrough seems to be unproblematic, but I advise against removing it in the middle of a playthrough.
If people want to make submods, just go ahead.

If I remember correctly some units from the aircraft mod and some units from the Dwarf specialist mod can be built on Malakais airship.
And don't worry about reporting on an issue that didn't actually exist.
I prefer investigating issues that don't exist over having issues nobody reports on xD

Understood. Thanks for the clarification. I believe I had an instance where the tanks were actually buildable but I can't seem to replicate the issue so maybe that was just user error on my part.

Just to make sure do any of your mods add units to Malakai's airship or did you leave all of them out? If that is the case then there might no issues and I was incorrect in my bug assumption. Apologies if that is the case.

This does help.
The recruitment system works with an ID System for example.
Its possible that I accidentally forget a building or use an ID twice and then weird problems like these could happen.
Should you find a specific one of these problems I would ask you to tell me about it. If I know what I am looking for, I can fix these kinds of problems super quickly.
But regarding Malakai's airship recruitment, it is on purpose that Malakai can't build all of my units on his airship.

I simply find it both weird to build a massive tank on an airship and also more interesting if there is something Malakai still needs settlements for.

Hey Vrooktar. It seems like your mods have some weird interactions with Malakai's airship recruitment. With some of your mods the units never show up there and with others they disappear if other mods add units to the airship, including your own.

I'm not really sure how best to explain it but hopefully this at least helps you look into the issue when you have the time for it.

I updated the mod with some bandaid fix. Unfortunately CA broke multiple things with consecutive updates this year, with the result that the modding tools don't even work probably right now.
The shooting animation unfortunately remains broken for now, but at least from a gameplay perspective its working again.

I am always happy to hear new ideas.
The problem I see with the troop carrier idea is that it doesn't translate well to Total War.
It just looks kinda stupid, if 100 Dwarves come out of a vehicle that is clearly too small for even 20 to fit into. Unfortunately Dwarves don't really have a fitting unit with a small enough entity size for that.
I also find it difficult to imagine a creative vision of an Anvil of Doom variant that sounds really interesting. Rune magic and the Anvil are also not really strong. It doesn't sound like that much of an interesting addition.

I love this! If I may suggest a couple of variants that were the kind of thing GW was thinking for the Dwarf Tank (according to the information we have on the 2 variants they were planning)?
One variant was supposed to be a troop carrier, so perhaps it could be based on the Grudge-Hammer without any external crew and an ability to summon a small unit of Dwarf Warriors near it?
The other variant was supposed to be a variant carrying a small Anvil of Doom (think it should be a RoR, or rather, even more limited than the normal tanks), so perhaps it could be based on the Grudge-Hammer, but combined with the power of an Anvil of Doom, giving physical resistance, a bit of magic resistance, Locus of Power & some Runic Magic, but with increased cooldowns.

Not really.
First off, I am not really playing with radious these days, so my balancing would probably not hit the mark.
Secondly, I am very committed to always keeping my mods well maintained.
Thats why I am very careful not to bloat my workshop with high maintenance mods.
The only reason why I am doing it for SFO is, that I am playing with SFO anyway and need it myself.
But you are welcome to do a radious submod yourself.
Its probably not super complicated.
