2nd place winner of The first ever Dome keeper Mod Jam!

[WARNING]: This mod does not yet work with the adaptive soundtrack feature. Ensure the setting is adjusted before selecting the keeper to avoid crashes. Set the soundtrack to "Engineer" to hear custom music composed by T6turbo.


Adds a new Keeper to the game: The Spelunker

Adds a second skin option for the Spelunker

Created as part of the Mod Jam, the keeper plays much like the engineer, except instead of being restricted by item weight, he is restricted by his backpack slots. Picking up a drop will put it in an item stack. Upgrades increase his maximum number of slots, and maximum stack size. While holding the drop button, using movement input will change the selected slot. Pressing drop will throw an item from the selected slot, holding drop will drop carried items (gadgets, power cores, relic)

There are plans to update the keeper to introduce a charged pickaxe attack, make the keeper affected by gravity, and add a new vertical mobility mechanic. So stay tuned!

To Dodrebur:
I have released an update removing the delay for selecting a slot, as well as a bit of code to ensure the slot numbering is accurate.
To lies:
See above, and I also added the ability to throw out packed resources. As a balance concern, however, packs are still limited to one per slot (since packs can have as many resources, or more, than a single slot can hold).

Hopefully these changes address your concerns as I work on adding more balance and feature changes, including (but not limited to) picking up gadgets and balancing spelunker and teleportation

To Henry:
I hope for Spelunker to eventually be a balanced alternative to engineer. Currently the slots function more or less identically to the carry lines and weight mechanic, but we will be changing things to limit the Spelunker to one large object at a time (think power cores, gadget squares, and the relic), as well as modifying the mining mechanic to be more like a combination of the engineer and assessor.

Cool idea, but it has some flaws; I've played The Spelunker twice, and it was interesting but not the best. For one thing, the resource pickup system is very weird and often just doesn't work; like It sometimes has display errors showing that there is only 1 gold in one slot even though its 8, so when you throw it out of the slot its 7 again. Or it doesn't respond to buttons, and you need to throw out all resources until you get to the resource you wanted to get out. It also doesn't work with the Resource Packer: If you shrink something with the Resource Packer, it can only put one item into the slot, and you can't remove it again. You have to go back to the base to have it removed, but there's no animation; it simply disappears.

I love playing as this keeper, but the buttons don't always work. I gave up trying to pick things up or drop them many times, and the inventory slot numbers aren't always accurate. Also, I couldn't pick up the seed and had to just let it plant where it fell. If the functions were more reliable, this might just be my favorite keeper :)
