描述
Built as a follow-on to the Virginia-class of nuclear cruiser, the Alaska-class of nuclear strike cruiser, or CSGN, were the product of the nearly decade long Strike Cruiser program. The first ship of the type, Alaska CSGN-42, would be laid down in late 1980, with four additional ships built over the next six years. While originally, between eight and twelve Strike Cruisers were planned, budget concerns ultimately reduced the order to just five total ships, CSGN-42 through CSGN-46. As-built, these ships came equipped with two Mk26 arm launchers, a Mk71 8-inch gun, and a pair of Armored Box Launchers for Tomahawk. All five ships of the type would be refitted in the early 1990s with Mk41 VLS replacing the now obsolete Mk26 arm launchers, taking full advantage of the capabilities of the AEGIS combat management system. The last ship of the type would leave service in the early 2020s after nearly 43 years of service.

Right so for this one, it definitely took quite a while to figure out how to get right. Early attempts at placing the SPY-1 panels went rather poorly and I rather quickly lost motivation and time to do it. But, I have persevered, and here she is in all her majesty. Despite the clashing hull numbers, these work excellent when paired with the Cambridge Class and have certainly proven their worth. I have included two variants, the earlier Mk26 and ABL equipped variant, and the later VLS equipped variant, both boasting the AEGIS system. I debated fitting Zeus but ultimately I concluded the design just does not foster them, so sorry about that. Right, well I'll end it here so as to not ramble on for too long. Enjoy!

Don't worry, it's great as is. The mk71 is an amazing addition.

I mean yeah it would be easy to do, but in lore, the first ships commission in the early 80s, so. Also, historically, I can't think of any way the CSGNs could have been commissioned in the 70s, and by the 80s, they would be premier surface combatants and get all the fancy toys first

Can we get a mid 70s loadout - no harpoons or Tomahawks? This is very close so far and I love it.

Could we get multiple loadouts for the Mk26/ABL version? Having a full load of 8 TASM instead of 4 TASM 4 TLAM would be nice for certain scenarios

Will fix, in the interim, go check out ToE, it has this ship and so many others. I just updated it and added several new units, as well as lore, and I have another special project in the works that will tie in with it.

I have to rework all of my mods outside of ToE to fix the Harpoon issue, but other than that, they should work fine

When loading with the latest update (0.4.0), an error message appears stating: "This mod is not declared to be compatible with this version of Sea Power by the author, would you like to disable?"

[This message is displayed for a boatload (no pun intended) of other mods as well.]

To the best of your knowledge, is this mod (as well as all the mods you have created) still good-to-go with the 0.4.0 version?

Thank you... and thank you for all the hard work you have put into mods for this game.
