Since the described issue forces every soldier to have a pistol that they can't un-equip, the solution must be some means of allowing that to happen. As for a list of classes...that's a whole lot. I'm not even sure I can come up with a full list of them. You have your basic LWOTC group, ShadowOps, all of Pet Rock's, some by Merist, Tedster's versions of Kiruka's, and more.
Many modders add in a sort of plug-in file that provides an override to another mod, in this potential example to DPS 2.0, that would remove the block from the other classes' use of the pistol slot. I'm familiar with .ini editing but I'm not a formal modder, so I don't know for certain whether this sort of thing would work in this case. I brought the issue up so that you, perhaps working with other modders, can figure out what would be the solution to the problem so that your classes truly ARE compatible with LWOTC, at least in a non-balanced sense (Prof classes are by nature not balanced for the "pure" LWOTC / Tedjam+ experience, but I'm not terribly concerned about that when things like Requiem are also around, trying their hardest to kill our soldiers...)
The core issue is that when DPS 2.0 is in use instead of LWOTCs pistol slot, it's apparently "locking" the pistol slot for all NON-Viper classes, forcing them all to have a pistol equipped that can't be removed. Pistols in LWOTC have weight, which causes a -1 mobility penalty unless the soldier buys Quick Draw from the XCom deck, a 10-point AP purchase that is often not the ideal selection for many classes. It certainly shouldn't be a soft requirement, at least.
To make DPS 2.0 work within LWOTC so that your method works for your classes, it has the described unintended side effect, and from what I've researched it requires players to manually edit DPS 2.0 to include all of the other classes to allow them to un-equip their pistols. I think that's the case, anyway - that part I have not yet tested confirm that it would even work.
(Since you asked, I must warn that this will be long-winded and in multiple parts. Please bear with me.)
The problem I described exists ONLY when your mods and DPS 2.0 are installed alongside LWOTC/Tedjam+ and the various compatible class mods. The conflict is derived from your using DPS as a crutch to hack your classes' gear into an LWOTC environment, not from this mod directly.
To use LWOTC with its inherent classes and those commonly used alongside it (Pet Rock, ShadowOps, Merist's, etc.) a player needs to disable that boolean in LWOTC's ini's, and then manually edit DPS 2.0 so that every OTHER class in use has its ability to properly equip pistols restored. That's not "minimal" effort, and you mention nothing about any of that above. If this mod is intended to enable ONLY your classes and for players not to use any others, maybe you should plainly say that in the description.
No. You are horridly misinformed. LWOTC created a boolean to toggle whether or not the pistol slot will use 2.0 OR their own version. By default, theirs is enabled and it disables the 2.0. With this mod, it changes that so that you CAN indeed use other things other than pistols in that slot in 2.0.
That being said. I DO NOT touch the LWOTC classes. They are using whatever the mod authors enabled them to use in the pistol slot. MY classes are coded to use the weapons I designated them in the pistol slot.
So to sum it up. Yes, inherently pistol slot 2.0 is incompatible. That's the entire purpose this bridge exists. I only support MY classes, so any other classes will still default to pistol unless you edit the configs to include other weapons / trinkets.
There COULD be other problems with LWOTC that I am unaware of, but haven't recieved any comments from the 500 subs on this about it not working, so I assume it works. It is better to try something to see if it works than making uneducated comments. Have a good day!
