Pegasus Bridge

Pegasus Bridge was a pivotal battle during the early hours of D-Day, June 6, 1944, in World War II. It involved the daring capture of two strategically important bridges in Normandy, France, by British airborne forces. The mission was part of the Allied effort to secure the beachhead for the invasion of Nazi-occupied France.

The bridges in question were the Benouville Bridge (spanning the Caen Canal) and the nearby Ranville Bridge (across the River Orne). These bridges were critical to the German forces' ability to reinforce their positions and counterattack the advancing Allied troops. If the bridges were left intact, German forces could disrupt the invasion by sending reinforcements across these routes.

This was hand crafted inch by inch using historical satellite imagery and photos detailing the road network from 1944 to custom buildings and their real world positioning. It took hundreds of hours of painstaking research and development. The bridges include 1:1 scale trench systems including the Frost HQ bunker and 57mm Gun Bunker which were all modelled to be as close to life as possible.

Since being announced in 2019, the delay can be put down to issues with development and internal struggles which were out of my control. It has morphed through various stages and now finally converted to use the Spearhead objects that were initially made for this terrain. I am extremely happy to finally have this beautiful terrain available to the public for free. I hope the community appreciates the work that was put into this.
