The Ki-43 "Po" was a light twin-engine bomber introduced by Japan in 1940 to support rapid advances across the Pacific. Small and nimble for its class, the Ki-43 was designed to deliver precision strikes against US positions while avoiding interception through speed alone. It carried a modest bomb load of 800 kilograms, making it suitable for quick raids on supply depots, airfields, and troop concentrations. Its defensive armament, however, was limited to a single twin-mounted 7.62mm MG gun turret, leaving it vulnerable to enemy fighters. Its lightweight frame construction, designed for speed and range, also lowered tis survivability against concentrated ground fire quite a lot.

The Ki-43 proved effective in the early stages of the war, where limited US air resistance allowed it to operate with mostly minimal escort. Its crews appreciated the aircraft's speed and responsiveness, which enabled them to strike targets and retreat before anti-aircraft defences could fully react. However, as Allied fighters became more numerous and aggressive, the "Po" struggled to survive without heavy losses. The twin MG turret, while capable against unescorted attackers, was insufficient to defend against coordinated fighter assaults.

By 1943, the Ki-43 was withdrawn from frontline service. Its limited payload and weak defensive armament made it increasingly obsolete, and its compact design made it difficult to adapt for other roles such as transport or reconnaissance. While its time in service was short, the Ki-43 "Po" played a vital role in the early war years, delivering precision strikes in support of Japan’s rapid territorial expansion.

1. Enable Battery Breaker
   
2. Enable Ignition
   
3. Pitot/ Windscreen Heat and Generator switch (they should be next to one another)
   
4. Enable Fuel Pump, Enable Radiator, Enable Fuel Feed (In This Order)
   
5. Magneto Selection (M1 and M3 is for Engine 1 | M2 and M4 is for Engine 2), You Press the Up Arrow, then Select the Magneto and the respective Light should turn on, and then repeat that again and again and again. The more magnetos are on per engine the faster it will start
   
6. Throttle up to between 30% to 50%
   
7. Enable Internal Electric Starters
   
8. Engines Should rev up
   
   
   
9. once started increase collective, disable brakes and move out to taxi (use the full runway if possible, otherwise you might have issues hitting the ground)

- you NEED to enable the two oxygen switches in the hallway to use the heaters, otherwise you will freeze (one is next to gunner, the other right behind the pilot seat
- Decently survivable against low calibre return fire

- easy to fly once you take off
- can carry torpedos if needed
