Tough as Nails *New Version*


Goal
The goal was to make the game significantly harder, without touching on rewriting AI or embedding any new Systems. Only by tweaking Parameters, Constants and Combat Actions.

While at the same time adding minimal invasive features, QoL: like Selling Items, Mechanics: like Lightning Reaction only on "Aware" targets or simply Visual: like 50% faster Rounds.

The changes are not made "Options", because I believe it would water down the experience as a whole. Of course it is recommended to additionaly crank up all difficulty settings that come with the unmodded Base Game. IF you really wanna suffer, add Rato's AI Overhaul to the mix.


Core Changes
  • Equipment: More Fire Modes, Armor has Stat-Requirments Armament by wulfy301
  • Wounds: "Injured" receive -20% Stats temporary*, Str Loss result in items being unaccessible
  • Grit: reduced to 20 (instead of 30, opens up use of other Perks)
  • Darker Nights: Severe Weather Penalties (Lightmodels changed accordingly)
  • Enemy Units: +15% more Stats for Legion, Army, Adonis, Additional Shots
  • Pressure: included Sig's "Legions Comes For You" Mod
  • Effects: negative Status Effects are much more punishing now
  • Awareness: Noise/Vision Range significantly increased (harder for Stealth)
    (*Heavily Wounded + Seriously Wounded decreasing Stats even further are optional)

Bonus Features
  • Sell Items: Sell Items from your Inventory on the fly, On Click Sell by Estruktix included
  • Loadout: Mercs Loadout is slightly adjusted
  • Stats: more ways to earn stats in the field more frequently
  • Fix/Nerf: to Lightning Reaction (Enemy has to be "Aware")
  • Speed: Turn Speed +50%, Movement Speed increased (Prone/Crouch/Walk)
  • Combat Tasks: appear much more often now (+grant more Money)
  • Recipes: new Medical combine recipes (First Aid Kit, Herbal Meds, Stims)

@rtschirley thanks, i noticed after uploaded yesterday, new version is up, wounds will now be removed correctly on heal. just load a savegame before you start treatin in satview
the options are indeed not working as intended, i will look into this now, sorry for the inconvenience

hi, i have some problems with the wounds.
i have disable deep wounds in thec options, but in the game my mecrs get deep wounded.
the wound can not fix in sat modus with threading wounds.

Same, I usually prefer solo or 3-4 Mercs. Meaning also less places to find for cover. As for the Speed-Constants, my problem is that I do not know how to address Constants via Gamerule. Once I figure this out, I will make most options toggle-able.

If you increase the size of the squad, it has a significant game impact. I've tried to play with bigger squad sizes in the past, but the default of 4 is just right for me.

Sorry they are not, but I was thinking about revising the Speed Changes in general, they have no real game impact whatsoever.

Are these toggle-able individually or as a group? I like most of the changes, but absolutely do not want the "Speed up" section.

Interesting changes. Think this mod undeservingly gets overlooked.

How does this interact with GC-Militia though? That mod is a must-have for me. And do the wound effects stack?
