This mod here is a simple patch that tells VFE that the tiles from Artificial Water Places are eligible to be set as fishing zones for VFE.
Odyssey on the other hand seems to set said zones at map generation, when you enter the tile. Thats why you have different fish per "pond".
Funnily enough if you place artifical water places next to an existing pond or river (not an ocean, thats the wrong tag) it will connect to it, even if you disconnect it later, the fish in the pond and in your artificial water will stay connected. It even increases the max amount, counting the artificial tiles in.
The VFE system in itself was already kinda wonky, because it obviously only checks if its the correct tile once you set it. If you remove a tile, or place a bridge on it, it stays a fishing zone in VFEs system.
