Fluid Coupled Torque Converter

描述
WIP: Please leave feedback on performance.

This is designed to simulate a fluid coupling/torque converter as in a modern automatic transmission.

Clutch engagement is determined by input speed and output speed, following a two-part curve. The first part of the curve is a fairly linear ramp, followed by a sharp exponential increase.

Additionally, the clutch will fully engage (value 1.0) when both sides are near the same speed, in order to minimize power loss. (the real-life counterpart is the lockup-clutch in the torque converter)

Please Note - This does not really work with modular engine clutches. A regular (square) clutch is recommended for best results.

Properties
Name
Description
Stall Speed
This is the RPS at which the clutch should start to engage. I recommend setting this at or just above your engine idle speed for a realistic "creep" when in gear.
Approach Factor
This number controls how much the clutch will engage in the linear ramp part of the curve. The higher this is, the more the clutch will engage early.
Curve Factor
This number determines the sharpness of the exponential part of the curve. Essentially, this controls how quickly it goes from "idle" speed to full engagement.

Logic

Description
Input RPS
RPS on the input side. (engine crank or torque meter)
Output RPS
RPS on the output side. (probably torque meter)
