Why wasn't this mod made sooner? Hell, why didn't vanilla do this?

This mod adds ambient thunder and lightning across all rooms of Shaded Citadel exposed to the sky, as well as in surrounding regions near its gates (and the arenas as a treat). This makes the region visually consistent with the view of other iterators from the top of the Wall. It might also make it marginally easier to navigate.

Also adds lightning to modded regions:
  • Citadel (UU)
  • Howling Rift (HC)
  • Lush Mire (LW)
  • Sacred Garden (SC) (see 1.1.0 patch note)
  • More to come!

Place this mod ABOVE More Slugcats for Downpour rooms' lightning to work properly.
This mod might not work for certain modded slugcats. If it doesn't, let me know.

wait omg I'm so dumb. You can use these two mods together, and they work SO WELL. If you own The Watcher, I highly recommend using these two together

Honestly, I'm not sure if I prefer this over the new "Iterator Lightning" mod. Each has their own appeal. I like how this one keeps it more in line with how the vanilla game works, it holds that special lightning effect back to make its appearance more surprising in Watcher. I guess this is better for vanilla or first time playthroughs

no rush, just figured id point it out, as im in penumbral basins and some of the rooms with sky view def aint flashy enough imho. the flashes are dim or non existante. there should be no lightning in coastline railway of course outside if the dimmer sky areas for obvious reasons. i also think maybe ashen bow and parts of Overgrown Sancturay may need flashing too. i have not played either of them to know for sure yet but i figured id mention them.

no rush, your human too, and have a life of your own to focus on. hopefully things are going well.

From the looks of the Root on the modded wiki, it should indeed have lightning in Penumbral Basin. I should take a look at what other modded regions connect to SH and get those done as well.
As soon as I can get back into playing this game...

will this be used to enhance lightning if necessary in the root as i remember in old version of it penumbral basion lost its lightning towards shaded.

i also wonder about other new regions that are close enough to shaded to have lightning.

Two reasons I wouldn't add lightning to the Grinder:
1. I have no idea why it's dark. There is no way for it to be underneath Five Pebbles if it's connected to the retaining wall. (On that note, doesn't the whole region overlap with Farm Arrays and Outskirts?)
2. The sky is not visible from Kern, so putting lightning there wouldn't make sense. The gate doesn't even have any transition rooms between itself and vanilla Shaded Citadel that would need lightning.
