Fram (1892)

描述
Norwegian polar ship Fram (1892)

History:

The Fram was a Norwegian exploration ship launched on the 26th of October in 1892. The hull was designed to rise out of the ice smoothly instead of being crushed by it. The ship was originally used by Fridtjof Nansen in an attempt to reach the north pole and to study the drift of the ice. Unfortunately the ship did not reach the pole directly and he set off on skis and reached 86° 14' north before turning back. In 1898 Otto Sverdrup led an expedition to the Canadian arctic archipelago to chart the islands and to sample geology, flora and fauna. The ship had her freeboard increased by 7 ft with a deck being added for the voyage. In 1910 Fram took off on an expedition led by Roald Amundsen aiming to reach the south pole. The ship was fitted with a diesel engine. The expedition ended up being a success with Amundsen reaching the south pole, before the British expedition. Fram reached 78° 41' S during the expedition.
The ship is currently preserved and on display in the Fram museum in Oslo

Specifications:

Length: 38.9m
Beam: 10.36m
Draft: 4.57m
Speed: 8kts

Usage/Startup

1. Head to the boiler room
2. Fill up the boiler with coal (can be found in a pile in the lower hold)
3. Set operating temp to ~170 C and start the boiler
4. Turn on the dynamo
5. Wait for the boiler to heat up
6. Head back to the helm for throttle

Extra notes:

This project started in February of last year which makes this the culmination of almost two years worth of work. Granted, the work was spread over 3 separate versions with a few breaks in between, mainly with the release of the fluids and gasses update. This specific version has been in progress since July. A lot of the interior had to be interpreted from faulty plans and pictures taken after the interior was revamped.

Other extra notes:
-Lights can be controlled from the helm
-The steering is inverted, as was on the real ship
-The boiler has an xml gap between the doors that you can use to feed it
-The boiler requires near constant attention due to having a low coal capacity
-The ship is sinkable if you find the button ;)
-Anchors are a bit hard to use, but I have faith in your anchor abilities
-The prop and rudder are not retractable like on the real thing as that is far beyond my pay grade
-Has to be spawned with a mission or an edited workbench

I found the sink button, it's in the [REDACTED], I repeat, it's in the [REDACTED] (Sorry, I couldn't resist commenting this. I have no actual idea as to where the sink button is at)
