Launched in 1911, the U.S.S Gonsinow was a standard fleet collier of the time. After WWI ended she was sold to the White Funnel Line and used to coal Ocean liners. She was carring a shipment of coal through October 4-7th when she went missing. A suvivor was later found who told the harrowing tale of her foundering. Instant sinking is the lore sinking.
