New comets of the Sun

描述
This addon aims to update the catalog of new comets for the Space Engine. New comets will be added over time, but it's only a matter of time... How many more undetected comets are flying into the inner Solar system!


The author's goal: To monitor data from ATLAS, Pan-STARRS and others!


Bright comets (visible to the naked eye) - 3.

Binocular comets (visible with binoculars and weak telescopes) - 3.

Faint comets (visible only with medium and powerful telescopes) - 23.

Hello everyone, a new patch has been released, and a new comet, "C/2025 A6 (Lemmon)", has been added. In late October and early November, it may reach a magnitude of up to 3 m, although some predictions suggest that it could reach -2 m!

The addon has been updated to version 0.8.0, and the brightness of Comet G3 (ATLAS) has also been adjusted!

Comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS) passed by perihelion on Jan 13, 2025. But its max brightness is only about -3.7 mag.

The parameters of comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS) have been updated. There is very little time left until perihelion passage!
