LegacyAltRenderer (G1)

LegacyAltRenderer is a dx7 to dx9 wrapper for Gothic I / II NoTR developed by SaiyansKing (Jakub).
It allows Intel 12th gen and newer users to be able to launch those games without needing GD3D11 or dgvoodoo2.

Gothic 2 Version

Installation: Activate Workshop Beta in the Steam game properties and subscribe to the mod.

Available renderers:

• DirectX7 - pass through with few fixes for alt+tab in full-screen mode;
  
• DirectX9;
  
• DirectX12 - using Windows 10 and 11 d3d9on12 mapping layer;
  
• Vulkan - using DXVK wrapper(offers a little performance boost on some hardware);
  
• OpenGL - using WineD3D wrapper.

Remarks:

• Game resolution should be set in "GOTHIC.INI" since changing it ingame can result in black screen.
  
• There is a new fog option for Gothic 1 called Radial Fog that can only be disabled through "legacyaltrenderer.ini".
  
• Light hack is an option that disables night for outdoor locations.
