Kwai Shing West Estate[en.wikipedia.org] is a Public Rental Housing[en.wikipedia.org] estate located in Kwai Chung, Hong Kong. The housing estate was completed in 1977, few years after the completion of the neighboring Kwai Shing East Estate. The housing estate was built on a mountainous site, and the structures were designed to conform to the surrounding terrain. As the buildings are constructed on decks with height difference ranging from 20 to 40 stories, a pedestrian passage system has also been integrated between the residential blocks. It includes large elevator towers, foot bridges and covered walkways, connecting the housing complex from block 1 through 10, and providing assces to the shopping center, bus terminal, parking lot and other facilities.

In the 1980s, over 500 public housing blocks in Hong Kong were found to have structural issues[en.wikipedia.org], 26 of those including two from Kwai Shing East Easte, were then demolished because of the possibility of collapse. The entire East Estate eventually went through reconstruction during the 1990s, the West Estate also had structural problems as it was found that the building's concrete strength was deficient. The West Estate was eventually listed for plan of reconstruction by the Housing Authority. Due to the poor state of the flat units, which included leaking ceilings and decaying window frames, 80 percent of the residents are in support of reconstruction. However, it was announced at some point in 2019, that the estate will not be rebuilt any time soon.

Here, the interesting structure of the estate often attracts outsiders. The aging population are still supplied by neighborhood general stores, local bakeries and restaurants. This housing estate is home to more than 13,000 peoples.

The type of housing blocks of this estate are commonly known as "Mark VII Resettlement Blocks". The estate also featured a road that pass through the residential building through a special gateway structure, which is common for housing estate built during that time period. Mark VII are the last type of resettlement blocks that are still being used as public housings.


This pack contain 5 unique residential blocks from Kwai Shing West, a set of modular elevator tower props, and 2 more building which are variation of the buildings mentioned above. When using Loading Screen Mod, all of the buidings and the props shares one texture respectively.
