Ancient Storm Drains

描述
On either side of this crumbling hooman bridge are ancient storm drains running beneath the road. On one side, the remains of hooman civilization spill bad water into the canyon below. On the other side, clean water flows beneath the road, and forest has begun to reclaim the land. Abundant metal can be found in an old hooman factory, but beware the polluted water leaking from its foundation.

This 128x100 map features two underground ruins and several hidden water sources. There is limited space in the starting area so the first few cycles can be challenging. This map has been tested with both factions on hard difficulty.

This is the first map I've ever made for Timberborn. Please enjoy!

Note: As of today's update this map does not work on Update 7. I will look into updating this map after U7 is completed and pushed to the main branch.

@[PJX] XII, Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep that in mind if I make another canyon-like map. With this map, I think the best way to deal with problems with the game's camera is to use the layer tool for now. It's a little inconvenient but it does give you a better view of the canyon area if needed. I am currently reworking this map for the next update but I don't think I can fix the camera issue without starting over.

Easy enough start that seems to open up to lots of possibilities with a few strategically placed planks. I just really didn't like how settling a deep canyon interacts with the game's camera. To make a canyon map, I think you should cut half of it off. Like have the low ground along the edge of the map, so we can see "inside" the canyon.

Wow, much things to do for my beavers from the first cycle. Get out of the canyon, check the resources, save clean water...and use the (repaired) road in a useful way. Even in cycle 29 they have open tasks to do. It this is really your first map, congratuation - you hit the major points in map construction !!

One more recommendation:

On the 'tree island' next to the start location, there is a bunch of saplings right next to the bridge which take a long time to mature, and until they do, it's impossible to extend a road there. I would recommend replacing these with fully mature trees. It would improve the first 2 cycles experience (Normal diff.)
