Stage 3 / Final Version / April 20th 2025

de_golden is a 5v5 bomb defusal map set on a small remote island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, where life revolves around a gold mine facility and a miners village.




Location

The gameplay of the map mostly takes place in two areas of the island:

— Bombsite A is set in an industrial facility owned by Kanejima Mining Corp., which is responsible for running all mining operations on the island.

— Bombsite B is set in an old miners village, with a central point consisting of a metal statue portraying the founder of this mining settlement.






Layout

The map's layout is relatively compact, with a decent amount of verticality, designed for quick rotations and flanks, fun peeks, and exciting duels. In it's core, it basically follows a standard three-lane map layout with two fast connectors between sites.

Small correction in my last post i like that the formula for verticality is like overpass and not vertigo, but it heavily favors retakes because the site is so small (mainly A site). now if a t rotates to higher ground that's different but it takes forever and you are forced to try and hold site from the 7 doorways.

honestly first impression of the map. too small and too many angles on A site. B site is probably the best site. Mid is an unfair battle for ct's as t's can just rush any molly or nade and overwhelm any awper as the mid hold is small ct side. Honeslty the map could do good with being stretched on all sides by like 9 meters; still fast paced but better pacing. also there are a lot of collision bugs 1 being in the caves and a few going to b from ct I forget where. Verticality is fine but only benefits retakes; personal opinion overpass how the verticality can benefit both sides is a better fit than trying a similar verticality to Vertigo. the visuals is amazing and sound design is pretty good with some footsteps sounding weird or hard to locate. 6.5-7/10. some rework would honestly be nice if stayed in the map pool as an official map. p.s as i finished this leetify told me i got blinded 11 times that match, I mostly played mid.

It's a great map. After playing a few solo matches against bots, I liked this map. I'll even add her to my favorites if she suddenly disappears from the main game.
But there will be one small request. Make some additional exit from the tunnel to "B". The transition turns out to be very large, it takes a lot of time to pass between "A" and "B".
