FAQ - Why can't I see the song cover?
Wallpaper Engine retrieves song data from the Windows Media Overlay. If your streaming software doesn't support this feature, you won't be able to see the song information, including the cover. Additionally, make sure you have enabled the "Media Integration Support" setting in the "General > Windows" section.

Why is the song cover low-resolution?
The quality of the album cover depends entirely on the music streaming application you’re using. Wallpaper Engine simply displays the image provided by the app through the Windows Media Overlay.
If the app only sends a low-resolution version, there’s no way to improve it directly.

Why don't the buttons work?
Unfortunately, this is a limitation of Wallpaper Engine itself. However, if you pause your song, you'll notice that the play/pause button will change according to the playback status.

With version 2.7, Wallpaper Engine introduced the ability to link clickable wallpaper elements to user-defined shortcuts. This means you can now assign specific actions to buttons, including executing CMD commands on click.

This wallpaper has been updated to support User Shortcuts, so you can configure the buttons to work as intended.

You can scale your image up to match your monitor's resolution

You can upload your own custom image or video: go to "Background" > "Use custom background"

is there a way to make a custom image size to an ultrawide monitor? its under the ultrawide resolution but there is no way to match it with the custom image? thanks!

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the wallpaper? If that doesn’t work, you can send me the log file, and I can take a look.

its a bunch of failed openings scene json like a bunch from me restarting my pc and doing other stuff i guess any way to uncorrupt it?

It’s possible that your PC shutting down corrupted the wallpaper you were using.
Try loading a different wallpaper from the Workshop first. If that one works, uninstall and reinstall the wallpaper that’s giving you the black screen.

If you want to keep your previous settings, click “Share JSON” under the wallpaper’s settings and copy the code — it contains all your custom configuration, so you can paste it back after reinstalling.

If none of that works, check the log file at:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine\log.txt
It might show what’s going wrong.

feel like i tried everything the wallpaper is just black now. sucks because i just had the settings the way i liked

@theghostale_ didnt work? it was working earlier but my pc shutoff then the wallpaper stopped loading
