描述
2025.1
Get rid of spoilers!
Lifts the game to a whole new level of challenge. Anything that is "cheaty" was removed from the game.
Additionally it enables new dynamic contact arcs which do not allow you to guess the contacts precise position but only suggest the bearing and what contact is closer. The mod is configurable, each individual feature can be enabled/disabled by editing a configuration file that comes with the mod.

For upgrading and configuration instructions, as well as the full features list Please refer to the README file delivered with the mod.
You will find it in

Highlights
Dynamic Contact Arcs
In the contacts as arcs mode in the vanilla game, direct visually observed targets are still rendered as ship icons, revealing their exact position and allowing unrealistically accurate plotting, without even acquiring any target data with the optics. The arcs are rendered only for non visual targets (from acoustics or radar detector etc..). However those are also allowing to guess the exact position of the targets. They will be exactly at the end of the arc.

This mod changes the arcs so that they are only suggesting the bearing to a target, but it is impossible to guess the exact distance. The arcs will be scaled with map zoom level growing longer when zooming out and shrinking shorter when zooming in. This forces the player to actually collect target data using the stadimeter for acquiring distance for particular targets when making an attack plot or preparing firing solutions manually. The arcs will also be rendered for directly visual targets, replacing the ship icons on the map. The arcs are selectable with the mouse, and when an arc is selected a selection box in the lower left corner of the map summarizes the information about the selected contact and revealing very rough estimates on the contacts speed and distance. For example distance: 5-10km speed: slow.

2D Map
There will be no any 3d world rendering inside the visual range on the map revealing the true situation. Also the map will be true 2D, without any skewing and distortions when zooming in, hence all circles will be perfect circles and all angles will be exact also at the edges of the map. There are also no range circles rendered on the map.

No Cheaty functions
Things that reveal exact positions of contacts, for example markers on the compass ribbon, camera centering map on exact contact position when clicking on observation notifications, or the Look-At button will be disabled (with the exception of torpedoes, it is still possible to follow a torpedo with the camera). There will also be no tooltips appearing at exact positions of contacts when hovering with the mouse over contacts. It will not be possible to automatically plot an accurate interception etc... Also the name of particular ship and their flag will not be automatically revealed in the optics or the contacts list. All contacts will appear in the UI with neutral grey flag and will have generic names such as Freighter/Warship etc... You will have to confirm the country they belong to (or pretend to belong to) and if necessary their name yourself visually by using the optics. Also it is not possible to cheat by freezing the time and enable active pause when using the optics.

No immersion killers
Disables things that are cluttering the screen, such as the triangle at the targeted ship or ships glowing when hovering with the mouse over them. This makes attacks at nights more challenging.

Configurability
The mod is highly configurable and it is possible to customize the configuration, disabling/enabling particular features by editing a configuration file that comes with the mod. For example if you don't like the dynamic arcs you can disable them. Or if you wish to see the ship icons you can enable them. If you wish that the flag or name of the ship is automatically revealed, or if you wish to see the range circles showing your maximum detection range, you can configure all that as you like. You can even overwrite the contacts mode that you have selected when you started your campaign. In vanilla game you cannot do that, once the campaign is started you must stick to the selected contacts mode. This mod allows you to change that if you have changed your mind.

Please refer to README file delivered with the mod for full features list and detailed configuration instructions.

Save game combability
The mod is save game independent. You can enable and disable it at any time. It does not require a new carrier.
However, if you have enabled overwriting of contacts mode by configuration file, this setting will be burned into your game state on next saving. Hence remain like that even if you disable the mod. Though you can, change the contact mode as you like, save your game state, and then disable the mod.

Is there any way to play with the config file just have static contact arcs without ship icons?

Does this still work ?

I think I found a way to get rid of the annoying arcs that appear even when they are disabled. I noticed that they appear when loading a save if there are observable ships around (including at your base too). If you go out to sea where there is not a single observable object around, save the game, exit and restart it - most likely there will be no arcs.

It's a shame the mod isn't updated anymore. I finally figured out the pattern of visual contact arcs appearing when arcs and contacts are disabled. If you save with other ships nearby, after loading the save these arcs appear and a list of visible objects appears in the watch menu. It would be nice to fix this someday.

Hi, randomly I will not get the map contacts for visual sighting of ships, both smoke and hull sightings, even though manually I'm able to see them clearly and can even lock on the ship. After locking on the ship, I get the contact reported by my crew, but the map marker is still not there. Is this a bug?

Remove LOCKING as part of the mod.

Опробовал. В моем случае мод работает как прогретая торпеда.Те опции в игре которые мне надо что бы отключил - мод благополучно отключил. Спасибо,жму руку.

Hi,
in modconfig, "Disable3DRenderingOnMap" on "False" is not working, there is no rendering of ships or of my sub when zooming on the map like if it was on True.
Thank you.
