Multiplayer setup guide

Also try Bandit Creator mod which now controls spawn settings and many other aspects of bandits.

During the zombie apocalypse, It's not the zombies you should be afraid of; it's the people...

This mod introduces hostile (NPC) bandits into the game. Please be aware that the enemies in this mod are extremely dangerous, and provide an extent of challenges. Treat them as actual players when it comes to combat. You will need to relearn how to survive.

WORKS IN MULTIPLAYER and WITH EXISTING SAVES and ALL MAPS!

Bandit Spawning
Initially, a small groups of armed individuals with melee weapons appear in the world. Over time, much larger groups armed with handguns and rifles will arrive to take your head. In multiplayer on the other hand, this happens independently for each player. Newer players will have more so simple bandits attacking them, whereas long term players will have stronger bandits attacking them.

Bandit Customization
Some general customization is done via sandbox settings just like for any other mods.

Customization of bandit looks, weapons and spawn settings is now controlled by Bandit Creator which is a separate mod you need to subscribe to in order to make changes.

What you need to know about v2 version
Besides killing you, bandits can steal items from you base, sabotage your generators, vehicles or crops.
Bandits can destroy things: obstacles and furniture blocking their way, destroy doors and windows, destroy or remove barricades, naturally they can also simply open doors or gates.
They can have different extra traits which determine their extra skills
They carry different loot depending to their profession and skills
They will resupply with weapons or ammo from dead corpses and containers nearby.
Some of them rarely may bite you as a recently infected desperate individuals.
They don't know where you are until they see you or until they hear you.
They can shoot all weapons, including shotguns, revolvers or rifles with scopes, weapon range depends on weapon now.

Troubleshooting
There are no bandits
Do not turn off zombies in your world completely. Otherwise Bandits will not spawn. Turning off zombie respawn is ok.
Their spawning has a large random factor. But if they don't spawn for 5-7 consecutive days then something may be wrong.

There is too many bandits
Use Bandit Creator mod to tune the right amount for you.

does it not work in host mode? me and my friend tried to figure it out for like an hour

Pls fix your amazing mod, I've been lot of issues.

1) FPS going down, with a lot of errors (Banditsbrain).
2) Suddenly mod stop working, It's disable on the game's mods options (Stop showing up in the mod list).
3) This is happening with Bandits, Day One, Week One.

I tried to fix it on my own, but I couldn't. :stardrop:

hi @slayer, there is a little bug with the rv interior mod. when bandits spawns in and the player is inside the vehicle interior the bandits icon disapper when u get out into the world, second if u wait too long they turn into zombies, still carry the same loot they re supposed to have, talk when they see you "there u re" and go straight to you as they become "assault" even if they were wonderer. it isn t too bad, as a bug tbh. just wanted to point it out. well done with the mods, still waiting on the friendly expansion mentioned time back. i think this mod is a must have in the vanilla game, hope u get credit for such a grate work for the community!! please like this comment so slayer can fix it up,

@Snibbels iirc it has something to do with the game not ever accounting for Zombie vs Zombie types of things. and bandits are technically still just zombies

Im a dumbass but there was someone else talking about this in the threads more indepth iirc

Hey men. Love the mod and where its heading. Two things tho:
1. your Discord link is broken, gets blocked by steam redirect.
2. Whats up with zombies attacking player when they should be attacking bandits?

Still one of the best mods for this game!

But how fun would it be if bandits not only attacked and robbed the player, but also laid siege to them? Yes, like in RimWorld! They would shoot to suppress us from a safe distance and throw toxic gas grenades so that we couldn't stay in one place (unless we found a gas mask).

I understand that this would be incredibly difficult in terms of development and programming, but maybe someday...

oi russian guy, the bandit's are literally zombies, and there's no workaround it. Disable zombie spawning and you'll see that bandits are gone too.
