Patch-Notes (25 may 2024) :
  • Rear bogey hitbox fixed
  • Improved cab details
  • Engine renamed "War baby" to be more historically accurate


Description of the mod :

After the rework of the SP Daylight, here comes the famous Southern Pacific GS6 #4460 "War baby".


I tried to made this loco as easy as possible to drive.
I made everything concerning the steam engine automaticaly managed so you have no chance of boiler overpressure, explosion or overheat (but you still need to refill boiler with water).
This locomotive is an oil-burner (like the real one), so you don't have to care about refill constantly the firebox with coal, just connect the tender and start the engine.
Note : please disable the "infinite fuel" option as it could cause boiler to overpressure

To start the boiler you only have to turn on the key on the top of the firebox.
On the left side, in front of the engineer seat, you can also switch on the water injectors to refill the boiler.


Features :

In-game :
  • Manufacturing : 100% vanilla components (with some .xml edited parts)
  • Spawn : can be spawned in all vanilla workbenches
  • Mass : around 13000 blocks

yeah i dont think the buttons connected

i would just connect it to the whistle and save it so you can have a "fixed" version

How does the whistle work? I see it there, but the button does nothing.

@Captain Timm : in front of the driver seat, there is a key button called "reverser" to go backwards

Metal_Messiah00 : my top-priority is to fix every loco I previously released.
The GS6 design is really close to the GS4 and it was planned way before the big update. So I decided to work and release both locos at the same time.
Next project will be to fix the UP BigBoy and UP Challenger

so glad to see a new locomotive and see the daylight is working again. will the Big Boy be fixed or are you just going to move forward with new builds? i know the update screwed so much up and its a lot of headache so i get it if not. just a shame so many good builds got broken.
