it's because the recent updates seem to be things you have to opt out of if you want your finished projects to stay functional rather than something to opt into, I dunno if I'm being whiny but it is a bit frustrating ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ , maybe an experimental branch would be a good idea
@RatLady I mean, mostly I'm just curious about what reason you want an older version for. Pretty much every change that people don't like can be turned off in the settings somewhere, and we can otherwise accommodate for changes that people still would like to see made.
The rationale is to prevent illegal vehicles from being used for competitive play. This isn't a bad thing to do, but making it the default is bad because it breaks things and makes things harder for new builders.

The ACF devs are not going to do that. I'd recommend to give ICF-3 a try. It is an ACF fork with non-competitive play as a focus.
