Since the fork of Transmog is very buggy, maybe you could make your own version.
I can see the preview... it just has to stay that way
I never figured out what the conflict was, but I changed the method for adding the float menu to a more “1.6-featured” approach.
This should correctly add the float menu option, provided the option is not disabled.
Inspired by a now now longer working feature of Choose Your Outfit
It seems my version of the mod just wasn't up to date yet. My work wasn't entirely in vain though since this mod adds categories/filters as well like "smeltable" and anything similar.
My mod also touches on Food and Drug Policies.
Ah okay, the float menu got overhauled in 1.6, and yes, it was updated in this mod too.
Probably your mod files just hadn't been updated.
the issue might be something else entirely
i tested it with a minimal mod list that mostly consisted of dev tools
i have over 1000 mods and steam tends to struggle with updating them ':D
