Xanth's Unit Rebalance Mod

描述
First things first: Its work-in-progress. It is my first time that I create a mod that is more than just a few tiny tweaks and even small changes can change the balance quite a lot.



So let me tell you what I wanted to achieve with this mod:

1. What you see is what you get! No more shirtless guys in 30+ armor. I also removed shield armor from all units.

2. Complete rework of all weapons. I want every weapon to be useful in certain situations. (More down below)

3. (Almost) equal hitpoints for everyone:
If you get pierced by a spear you're dead. In vanilla there is a really big variance between HP between tiers. I changed that so every soldier has hitpoints between 100 and 110. The soldiers equipment and skill has now a bigger impact on their survivability instead of bloated HP pools.

4. One small campaign change about Tausrets Armory. Its effect on armor on recruitment is a lot less now. It still stacks but you won't get ridiculous amount of armor from it anymore. I plan to do more but for that I need feedback and actually need to play another full campaign.



Weapon Balancing in detail:

Swords are really useful against all the unarmored militia now, axes do good on charges and well against units with shields, while maces are necessary to break through heavy armor (you can try it with swords, but that will take a lot of time).

Spears are a solid frontline now, they are your best anti-chariot option and are solid against charging 2H weapons, but they should have trouble against units with 1h weapons.

Ranged weapons also got overhauled:
Bows are mostly non-ap now. Better bows generally have higher damage, but especially Longbows are a lot slower in reloading and shooting their salvos. But thanks to their high draw weight Longbows do decently against armored targets.

The best ranged option against armor are slingers now. With high projectile speeds they can no longer arc their shots and their stones are quite the blunt surprise for your enemies. These things deal mostly ap damage now, but reload speed and accuracy aren't as good as with bows.

Javelins have now a bigger difference between light and heavy. Heavy ones obviously do more ap damage but their range is lower, while light ones pack less of a punch but can be thrown from greater distance. This is still kinda wip and I need feedback on that.

Sorry for replying late, I'm kinda busy irl at the moment, so I'm not actively modding right now. Though I will keep maintaining the mod, so updates will happen either when I have found some spare time to play the game again (and get some ideas), or when CA releases new content.

Also been wondering about the shirtless armor, need to give this a try. :)
