Secret Menu Mod

Hi~ Another fun cheaty, creative mode mod :)

Features

Currently this has 7 buttons. These buttons are all toggles. Click once to activate, click again to deactivate.

Hotkey
There is a Hotkey setting in options for toggling the visibility of the Secret Menu tabtool.
  • Options > Controls > Secret Menu Visibility
  • Default is
    RightAlt + M

Menu Options

Character Debug Menu: This unlocks a right click menu with many options. Right click any character/animal/monster for the menu. It also opens up a new Debug tab on the character sheets.

Character Full Control: Pretty much as it says.. lets you control any characters in the game.

No Building Costs: Lets you instantly place building parts / props and so on for free.

Unlock All Research: Opens up all research for your kingdom.

Immediate Dig: Lets you instant dig using the dig tool.

Props Debug Menu: Enables a right click context menu for props.

Effects Editor: Opens the Effects Editor Menu for modding.




Full Debug Checkbox: will show the Full Debug Tool button.
This button will enable the Debug TabTool to the right of the Secret Menu. This is all debug options in game. Some of these could break your game or ruin your save, so tread carefully.

Over time I will add more stuff to the menu :)

Just updated. Currently active settings in the SecretMenu will be saved per save game, and loaded for that save. Each save will load the settings it had active on save. New Games will always start with all settings turned off.

This fixes the issues of the buttons not working properly between saves.

Known Issue: Hotkey for toggling the toolbar button is broken.

Looks like theres something going wrong when saving/loading with the menu settings enabled. Working on a fix but for now you can do the following steps.

Temp Fix:
Disable all Secret Menu settings.
Save the game.
Load that new save.
Enable Secret Menu settings.

Everything will work again.

Almost the same thing here. After installing it for the first time, the mod allowed me to build an entire base. After loading the game a few days later, it stopped working, and starting a new game didn't change anything. I can no longer build infinitely.

The strange thing was, I was able to build out an entire base with my other game, and I didn't even need my characters to touch anything. I try a different map, and boom doesn't work at all.

Trying to use the mod now, I've turned it on, and I am trying to build without materials. Won't work on my new save, no idea why?

It would be a different mod if so. This mod isnt meant to do anything much outside of the developer/debug tools already in game. It gives a menu with the most likely to be used tools and access to full debug tools without needing to use the developer branch of the game. fwiw, theres many tools in there and a right click menu for characters also, just not an in game character editor.

@Satoru, Going Medieval has a mod that allows you to change traits, skill levels, potential and many other things by simply pointing at the thing and scrolling with MMB (it went trough the entries one by one in the category, if there were more stuff affecting the category, you needed ctrl/shift/alt+MMB scroll). It was a single dll file if I remember correctly. Any chance for something similar to change the traits and stuff from characters midgame?

Something like that would have to be a new mod. Id consider it after the game is out of EA and v1.0
