Synopsis: The Omega Gate provides safe underground passage between settlements on the Western Fringe and the Matino Plateau. When the denizens of New Garron arrive, they find nothing but ruins and dead air.

The third installment of my ongoing TAB custom campaign series. This one took much longer to make than anticipated, with many iterations to accommodate the much larger scope and complexity of the level. It's been very fun to learn on the journey. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for playing POB. I've done quite a lot of (balance) changes since the initial release. I think the walkers getting stuck has to do with some of the infected dwelling placements being too close to edges, so that's something I could look into. Happy to see you play my stuff ^^

I enjoyed the map, great job! I don't know if you buffed the waves since the initial feedback but they felt about right for me playing no pause. I did nearly get caught out as I completed the objectives with my Lucy and soldiers by the hospital so I nearly lost Lucy which would have cost me the map, but thankfully the Lucy health booster came in handy.

The only downside for me on this map was all the walkers at the end dragged it out as the game wouldn't end until I found where some stuck walkers were which took a while. I forget all the options on how to end a map but it wasn't the biggest deal and overall it was a great map.

Good map, solid story. Waves could do with buffing, exceptionally weak. :steamthumbsup:

Traps:
1) Farms, inn and power plants.
2) Rangers
3) Wooden Wall (Go for stone walls), normal swarms lucifer will do just fine if your back firepower is sufficient
4) Inn
5) Hoarding too much resources before defense is ready

Recommended:
1) Wood Workshop (need stone workshop)
2) Storage and wood mill (you can't avoid this because of resource requirements)
3) Wood, then Stone House (space constraints but you need them for 400 colonist for Stone Workshop and Market)
4) Market is your way to buy to sweet resources stuff
5) Oil Platform (to reduce Lucifer oil hog and in turn income penalty, mission objectives, and selling oil gives fast cash)
6) Soldiers

The game starts with only gold income. You only have little of stone/iron/oil income in your base later. You will try balancing burning VOD, defending base and trying not to die when chubbies are available and what you have is essentially a lucifer, an elite soldier and elite ranger. You need those houses burn and pray that it drops wood becuase thats the only way you can progress.

The pressure starts to drop when you have enough manpower for soldier center and wood workshop built. The priority now is to push both center and/or search the wing, while preparing from swarm contact. Due to the scarcity of wood, avoid rangers and snipers (at least early game).
Soldier ball can steamroll map just fine.
