Panzer Corps 2 Balance Overhual

描述
A mod aimed at overhauling the combat of Panzer Corps. Reworking hundreds of units and adding many more to encourage diverse army compositions. Practically every unit tab has undergone large scale changes to accomplish this. Changes are to extensive to list in their exact totals but the broad scale changes are:

Recon - Increased stats of many armored vehicles, added infantry recon units, added evasive to all recon units to increase survivability.

Infantry - Empowered various unit types to have more defined roles. As an example Heavy Infantry are significantly more power having the power to even somewhat hold their own against tanks in open terrain. Also added various infantry types like German Panzergrenadiers to each nation to increase variety.

Tanks - Massive balance passes making greater divides between tank types and roles. Light Tanks have been made cheaper in core slots as budget options, Medium Tanks have been kept as well balanced but also specailizing certain tasks, then finally Heavy Tanks have been made more expensive making them harder to use as a primary tank.

Anti Tank - AT has been changed to be more diverse in their options. Units range from cheap excellent AT options such as Marders to more well rounded generalist AT like Stugs who have better defenses and some soft attack. Different nations also more drastically stand out from one another in their options.

Artillery - Artillery has mostly seen changes to lower caliber artillery who have gotten cheaper in core slots and buffed in other ways. They now make for extremely cheap options at the cost of some power.

Anti Air - One of the most drastically overhauled tabs, the ground fire mode for countless AA pieces now are actually useful. Light Caliber guns at 20mm or less now support infantry and 40mm guns support both tanks and infantry. This helps make AA far more appealing even after the skies are clear.

Fighters - Lowered initative difference between generations of fighters. Later war fighters still win practically all engagements but early fighters are less likely to get one shot in a single attack. Also added or improved various heavy fighters who now excel at killing enemy bombers that are regular fighters will struggle against.

Tactical Bombers - Various fighter bombers now can swtich between a Fighter and Bomber mode. Bomber mode is their current version but the fighter trades their ground attack values for generally improved initative and much more air attack. Many act like heavy fighters sporting high air attack but low initative but in general the fighter mode is better at air combat.

Strategic Bombers - Increased survivablity making them harder to kill. Regular fighters can struggle to deal much damage and relies large numbers or heavier armed planes to bring them down reliably.

This mod generally makes the game more difficult as it raises the core slot cost of many of the best units and forces players to either deal with a small but elite force or use more regular equipment to have a larger army. Testing for balance was conducted on Generalissimus without any heroes and I was able to complete all Axis Operations through 1945. Any feedback is welcome and I hope you enjoy this mod!

Thank you for this mod, I enjoy playing the campaigns with it. It gives some interesting choices which units to use...

It has been quite a minute but I can hopefully say that the mod should now be back to 100% functionality in all campaigns and scenarios!

There is a bit of sad new related to this though as the crashes were being caused by aircraft that were switching modes. So to fix the crashes those have now been removed. This likely will cause some issues with older saves so I would highly suggest to make sure all your toggle aircraft are in Fighter mode when you end the scenario.

In other news I have also toned down various strategic bombers in defense a bit in order to make them more killable since there is no longer high attack heavy fighters. They still should be tough but regular fighters should be a bit more useful.

Hi, thanks for all the work.
That would be very sad, especially because of the Jets from Stormbird. But if it can't be helped it can't be helped.

I am not sure that that will work tho, since I can load the missions in fine, and play them, as long as I don't try to change or buy any units.
Really only once I open up the "Updrage" or "Buy" Menu it crashes.

This goes for the preperation as well as for any Turn after. .

@terminatus I would say yes for the time being if you are just trying to play through the campaigns

This should be the command that allows you instantly complete a given scenario. Hopefully it doesn't take to long before this is all fixed but for the short term just skipping any scenario you crash on might be the best course (assuming you can load into the scenario).

ah so operation Tusk and Operation Stormbird might be the issue? So I could try to skip those?

I pushed another update that has fixed some of the issues with campaigns. There is still ongoing issues related to Western Allied stuff that I am trying to find the issue with. Notably it seems campaigns where you face off against the Western Allies seem to be having issues. Sorry for the inconvenience but until I figure out exactly what is breaking stuff I can only suggest to not play against AI western allies for the time being.

It happens with every mission change now. I reloaded an earlier save and changed to the next mission and it still crashes orz.

Is there a way to try and roll back to a earlier version for me? :)

Hi,
I played a DLC campaign from 1939.
Now I arrived at Riga 1944.

I am using your mod, the "More Units" mod, double air recon movement and .. German Tank overhaul. None of those have been updated in a while tho. So far they all worked great.

The Operation Stormbird went fine ( I started that last sunday) now I progressed into Riga 1944 and the game continues to crash once I open the "buy" or "upgrade" window. I also have a single "Invalid Unit" which seems to be my 12 cm Grw Infantry from this mod. Now.... I did turn that one into a Grenadier in the still working mission the game still crashes.

If I turn all mods off I have much more Invalid units.. since I use quite a lot of the "More Units" Units without knowing.

If I turn all mods off...
The game also still crashes FYI.
Can you maybe help? :)

Begliet Infantry are mainly defensive in nature and are intentionally very well stated to make up for their lower strength. That is intentional

I also have found the issue related to the Panzergrenadiers and other similar units and although I have it fixed I am now encountering many other problems. I don't know why Westwall seemingly has broken so much but since the version I pushed last is working I will have to delay anymore updates till I can make everything run without crashes. I have no idea when those fixes would happen though.

Hi,i found we got a new infantry unit called "Begleit Infanterie" have only 10 strength and the "Panzergrenadier 44" can't switch mode now.:steammocking:
