Rotary Artillery System (RAS-001)

This is a 1 of 1 produced, self-propelled, self-loading artillery vehicle prototype.


Developed by Sarlift Land Systems, Project RAS-001 was built to compete for the Next Gen Artillery Program contract.

The 4 barrel rotary design provides the firepower of several vehicles combined. Able to provide direct or indirect fire with the sophisticated ballistic computer and targeting drone. The self-loading system simplifies logistics, using ISO shipping container magazines holding 480 rounds for sustained bombardment.

After losing the competition to rival company TR, the prototype was moved into storage, occasionally hauled out for trials and tests. Although fully functional, the vehicle is still in a pre-production prototype state, a rats nest of wires. After years of minimal maintenance the rusted hulk has started to decay.

How to use the main gun

Start by picking up the container of ammo spawned with the vehicle and feed the ammo into the system.

The top 2x3 screen in gunners seat is the primary gunner sight for direct fire mode.

To fire indirect fire at the drones laser target - enter the drone pilot seat.

Accuracy is best when firing from a flat surface.

The drone gimbal screen is touchscreen.

Find a target with the drone and use the laser to highlight the target.

In gunner seat press Target Drone Laser and Inverse Ballistic Aim if needed.

The gun will then automatically lock to the drone target ready to fire.


Notes

To dock the drone easier target the landing pad with the drones gimbal.

Reset Gun position to reload (hotkey 2 in gunners seat)

The Target Error indicator in gunner seat will advise if the target cannot be hit. this is usually due to being out of range or too much angle on the vehicle chassis.

Things may stick but seem to come right shortly after.
