描述
Hello, this is my first mod for Project Zomboid.

I realized that A LOT of people said that "there is no need to level the Electronics Skill past level 6," so why not make a mod to change that?
As an electrician myself, I immediately started thinking about a lot of ways electricity could be implemented in the game better, so here we go for now...

As said, the mod is aimed at giving the Electronics Skill a purpose on higher levels. So the new stuff mostly comes with a high skill threshold. It's quite powerful though if used properly.
The mod should be compatible with existing save games; however, the loot will most likely only spawn in areas where the loot tables have not yet been created if loot respawn is turned off.

New Items:

8 Recipe Magazines for upgrading Walkie Talkies, Radios, Ham Radios, Crafting Speakers, Motion Sensors, and Remotes
4 Circuit Diagrams which can be crafted by reverse-engineering electronic devices -> used by high-level electricians to craft some of the magazines above
3 higher-tier Noise Makers which will attract zombies from a wider range than the Vanilla ones - Compatible with Remotes and Motion Sensors
3 higher-tier remotes which let you trigger connected stuff from way farther away than the Vanilla ones
An Electronics Kit for Practicing which, with the use of some materials, helps you get to the higher levels without dismantling all the TVs in the neighborhood

New Recipes:

Scavenge Electronics Scraps for Components
Craft Upgrade Magazines from circuit diagrams (If your Electronics Level is high enough)

The new magazines should spawn in bookshops and similar places, and the Electronics Kit is something children usually would use ;)

I plan to add more functionalities to that mod, like automated doors and better generators/solar stuff/wind turbines. However, I still need to get used to coding in LUA, so that can take some time.

If you encounter any bugs, feel free to notify me on the workshop page.

Enjoy!

Greetings,

Luno Wroo

I really wish I could install solar panels. There's even a mod called "Immersive Solar Arrays" that works well on the B41, but the B42 version is apparently having some bugs. If you can actually make automatic doors and other alternatives for electrical energy like solar panels and wind power, make a battery bank, maybe even an electric car or electric bike, it would be perfect. I wish you success in trying to make the mod.

hope you can make solar panels. we don't have those in b42

Really neat to see a real electrician give some much needed love to this skill. Outside of MP (for crafting walkie talkies, and even still, it's hardly useful) there is truly almost no reason to level this skill. Super happy to have a reason too, I always liked the idea of electrics playing a bigger role in the game, beyond replacing lamps with batteries lol

"Could you add a video explaining what this mod does? Also how it works. So that people like me don't have to spend ages trying to figure that out whilst debugging their modlist."
I added this into suggestions too.

Would you be able to add this into a currently-running world? Thanks a bunch!

@Nemesis - Oh yes! That's an oversight @.@ I probably did something wrong during the update. I'll check it as soon as possible.

I just saw you updated the mod, but now the tags say it works only on build 41. Is that an oversight?

I have an electricity still turned on and no generator near therefore. Military ham connected to grid but still uses battery and can't be turned on without batteries

Would love an assemble and disassemble function for tv's etc. Let's face it many take things apart to learn how it ticks and what better than putting it back together and notice it still works as a way to learn. Maybe a cool down or diminishing returns or chance to break pieces to balance it.
