描述
Forge-Deep as you might have guessed is an Item Forge overhaul mod that aims to give the player a more comprehensive set of Forging options while trying to retain a semblance of balance. Whether that was actually achieved remains to be seen.

To follow in the tradition of life itself, there will be sacrifices. You don't ever truly gain something without losing something else.

Forge all kinds of fanciful objects, but don't look upon them too gleefully, as realistically you might struggle to offset the inherent drawbacks on the most fantastical items. You might also struggle to afford them in the first place.

The most profound characteristic here is that Ranged and Melee prowess can only be channeled through one item respective of class, which precludes mega-uber-stacking of these stats. I've also made them prohibitively expense.

Following that point, the mod is balanced in a way that even semi-potent crafts in this category are strictly late-game crafts by virtue of being so expensive.

I haven't had a massive amount of time to test this mod. So if you have any ideas or balancing concerns, please throw them in the comments.

I am not playing or modding the game anymore as it turned out the game cannot handle the scope of modifications I want to use. Maybe the only solution would be to have two separate versions, one for casual and one for extreme. I just don't have the mental inclination to make revisions or any further content after hitting that brick wall.

Thank you for the feedback. I've just fallen out of love with the game due to engine limitations.

@Avenger711 - It's probably not perfectly balanced. I made it more for added flexibility when playing maximum difficulty (against 7 Emperor AI) and with mods that increase difficulty even further.

I personally play with boosted defender strength and some augmented units like Dread reaper which does insane multi-channel damage. Outside of that certain weaknesses can still be extremely deadly depending on matchup. Blight and fire weakness is a real concern when fighting Rogue/Dreadnought. Shock weakness dangerous against Sorcerer etc.

I tried to remedy the natural imbalance or general usage imbalance with the inflated costs, which should hopefully result in powerful items being reserved for mid/late-game situations.

Also taking a lot of elemental weaknesses may be not a big deal since there' no strong multicannel attacks in the game. F. e. you take -20% weakness for each magical attack gains a lot of craft points and suffers only 1-3 aditional damage. Or may be not suffer at all because of increased Res.

I think Brain Rot is not a handicap for archdruid heroes they don't have anything usable anyway. One damage spell is not a big deal.For Dreadnought with basic spells too. Flash grenade is not something really usefull. Yes there can be obtained summoning of siege machine but it's a long story requiring 10 points investment.
