Europa is a strange place filled with all kinds of cosmic horrors under the ice. Most of them are monsters but few are plant based. Combine this with the simplicity of the gardening gameplay I felt it would be cool to expand on this and add some excitement and risk to gardening with some greater reward without going too crazy.

What does this Mod aim to do?

Plants and Chemical Warfare! It aims to expand upon the plant gameplay massively adding new plants with risks and rewards. It also attempts to add a unique combat style in the form of Chemical Warfare unique to the Botanist Job included in this mod.

This Mod includes:

* New Job - The Botanist is a plant specalist that is designed to handle these new hazards on your sub.
* New Unique Weapons - Chemical Sprayer and the Canister Launcher, both use the same gas canisters to douse your enemies in chaos in two completely different styles. One focused damage over time and the other area of effect with high alpha damage for Area Denial.
* Gas Canisters - Nerve agents, gases, buffs etc. Have a new appreciation for the Geneva Convention and learn why a small metal tube is not as safe as you thought.
* New Crafting station - No longer will you need to harass fabriction with requests to create stuff for you. With your own limited fabricator you can produce wherever botanist items you please. You can still craft most items at a Fabricator.
* New Gardening Items - Sprinklers and Incinerators!
* New Seeds - Some safe, others less so. Some so dangerous you need special containment procedures. Each is exciting and new with various effects, functionality and produce.
* Seed Research and Identification - Discover Unidentified Seeds and research what they do to get completely random seeds!

Coming Soon (Or eventually)

* New Talents - 3 sub-specialisations for the Talent Tree: Be a Gardener, Chemical Warfare Trooper or a Chemist that experiments with life itself...
* Plant cross breeding. (may be possible)

Known Issues:

Bug: Some items do not update their properties on update like seeds, you may need to re-craft them to get the new effects!
Potential Crash: If a plant from this mod has it's plant vine number reduced the game does not handle this exception and can lead to a crash. The solution to fix this is to load your campaign WITHOUT botanophobia loaded to remove all modded items from the mod and the crashing plant then re-enable it. Anyone who went Botanist will keep their talents on the next load as long as they don't log in without the mod but you will need to manually edit the save character data to change their class from "security" to "botanophobia_botanist". This issue should no longer occur as plant visuals are mostly done.

Disclaimer: This mod is still actively being worked on and future changes *shouldn't* break anything but no promises. (It won't affect your save, items would just disappear.)

Plants Plus - I've incorperated the plants from this mod as they fit the theme. It's rather hard to put a unique spin on these for my own mod so I just incorperated them and credited. If you want just the simple plants I highly recommend it.

Development

You are free to use whatever you want from this mod with no restrictions but some credit would be nice (unless its something originally from another mod).

I have included the GIMP spritesheet (xcf) file in the mod root directory so you can add/extract specific sprites as you want.

@Mini Mushrum all good, thanks for the feedback, next release ill add that you should press "E" to place it while right clicking to all item descriptions that can do that :)

@Mini Mushrum you should be able to place it by pressing "E" while aiming, does that solve it?

If not im happy to take a look, but it works in our campaign so far :)

@Iron_Phildo69 I can't manage to add the Botanist Suit Portable Locker anywhere in my ship, is there a reason why ?

I do not possess the skill, but a npc do, do this matter ?

@Wave5 This mod does no overrides of any kind, all content is self contained and separate :)

I was wondering how well this mod works with barooverhaul, hungry European, and enhanced reactors. Would they fight each other with overrides, or is your mod separate enough that it shouldn't cause issues?

@PBL might I recommend the excellent mod Hungry Europans? The plant system in that is custom, but because it uses items not seeds it might be possible to have NPCs use it :)
