Asia Expansion Project

描述

AEP: Final Release
MP Checksum for 1.17.* (Ascendant): 30fc

The Asia Expansion Project (AEP) is a mod that expands the world of Crusader Kings III by extending the game’s map to include the vast expanse of the Far East. From the rugged Manchurian frontier in the north to the western edges of Papua in the south, AEP offers players an expansive and immersive world to explore.

This mod adds dozens of new, historically grounded cultures and religions across East and Southeast Asia, each with their own traditions, men-at-arms, and flavor. It includes thousands of historically attested characters with well-researched lineages and titles, ensuring immersive, lore-rich gameplay.

Unlike other mods that bundle unrelated content, AEP is focused on balance and is built to integrate seamlessly with vanilla CK3, offering depth without bloat, and every feature is backed by thorough research to preserve historical authenticity.

Notice for Mac Users: Please be aware there are known CTD issues on Mac computers when running the Asia Expansion Project. We are aware of the issue, and are currently working on a fix.

The Asia Expansion Project should work seamlessly with the latest DLCs and is generally compatible with most mods on the Workshop, with the exception of larger overhauls. However, if you do encounter any bugs or incompatibility please be sure to let us know over on Discord[discord.gg]

Q: How can I stay updated on the mod or report bugs i discover?

A: If you want to stay in the loop with changes made, report any bugs you come across, or just reach out, you're welcome to join the Project Discord Server by clicking on the link below.

[discord.gg]

Q: "Does this alter any core mechanics or add new ones to base CK3?"

A: Currently no, although there are plans on adding new government types, struggle mechanics, events and decisions in future releases of the mod.

Q: "How can I join the team?"

A: Help is always welcome here on the project, and if you're interested please consider reaching out to us over on Discord[discord.gg]

Q: "Are you collaborating or planning on collaborating with any other modders on the Workshop?"

A: Some yes, while we prefer to use our own in-house assets we're open to collaborating and making use of assets created by other modders provided their content aligns with the project's goals.

Q: "Why am I seeing faceless characters that haunt my dreams and keep me awake at night?"

A: The missing face bug has been present in vanilla CK3 since the release of the 1.7 update, and isn't the fault of the Asia Expansion Project. Find out more here[forum.paradoxplaza.com]

Q: Why are my characters bald and/or naked:

A: Typically, it's due to a mod conflict or incorrect load order. However, it could also be related to corrupted or missing game files in the Paradox root directory, which would require invalidating. So please rule out these possibilities before reporting a bug on Discord[discord.gg]

Q: How can I help support the mod's development?

A: You can support the project by spreading the word on social media, or backing the project over on Ko-fi - every little bit helps.

@.wolf The team collaborating with TFE is the Oriental Empires development team, and they share resources with each other. TFE’s Asian map will use content from the Oriental Empires.

Thanks for the swift response! I feel like I'm just making things up, because I really couldn't find the message I believe I read.

But, as for your mod. I am very excited to see it add to/upgrade toe new DLC. I love it, but the cultures and religions are dry to the bone in the areas I like.

Honestly can't believe they didn't give me my Gaemamusa and Khitan heavy cav. Rage, I tell you!

Good modding!

@.wolf That's the first I've heard of it. However, I can confirm it's not our team, as we're not currently in discussion with TFE regarding their upcoming update, as right now all my time spent modding is going into AEP.

@Chudwig I appreciate it. Just to be clear, though, the next build does lean heavily on features that are provided by the latest DLC so running it without AUH is always going to feel like a half-baked, subpar version, no matter what kind of game rules we try to implement to smooth that over. If you want to experience the mod as it's actually intended, you really do need to buy the latest DLC. Using an Asia improvement mod without the DLC it's built around kind of defeats the purpose imo.

@Longus Cattus

I feel like I recall seeing that The Fallen Eagle team are working with some modders of the east Asia team to add in the rest of the map for their mod. Is it your team or another team? I can't seem to find that comment anywhere....
Chudwig 11 月 18 日 下午 12:15
AUH may have added in the East and given some cool features (you'd hope considering it's a paid DLC) and new government types, but they really screwed over, minorly, people who haven't bought it. It's nice that Asia isn't just gone if you don't have the DLC, but it's soo generic over there, not even Administrative government at least, it's all tribal and feudal and crap.

Maybe I missed it, but a pre-game decision in the rules to change some of their governments to Administrative would go a long way to compensate for the lack of the DLC.

Tirade over, but I really love what this mod was able to accomplish and hope it serves as a replacement for AUH if you don't have enough, or aren't willing, to pay for it.

@Elon Musk Technically, a full-world map in CK3 is possible, as mods like CK3: A New World (still unfinished I believe) show, but in practice it’s beyond what most teams can realistically take on. A project on that scale would likely be stuck in development hell for years, even with a larger team. Even a standalone America-only setup would be a huge undertaking, and taking that on alongside what we're planning for Asia would just dilute the quality of our work, so we've never seriously considered it.

Thanks for the response. Looking forward to what's next. On a separate note, it sounds like we'd love an american expansion it seems. And i'm not talking about the (after the end mod), not a fictional map but a historical one would be a beast.
Longus Cattus  [作者] 11 月 16 日 上午 5:20
@Joe The mod After The End already did this in a way lol
Longus Cattus  [作者] 11 月 16 日 上午 5:19
@Elon Musk I'm already working on adding more content to Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia, so the mod is definitely not dead. However, since all of the work since AUH has been done by me alone so far, I can't say for sure when the next update will be released. As for whether Paradox stole our content, I'd say no, but I wouldn't be surprised if they took some degree of inspiration at least from us and/or one of the other Asia expanding mods on the workshop.
