Stunned crowds were seen today on the east moor as the new SAE 401 set the new world air speed record
After the setback of being beaten by mere hours to the single engine record by the new Pingworks C1, Saltburn Aero Equipment knew they had to come up with something special to enter the history books.
Utilising the new Burleigh and Stronginthearm 4-bank "Ruby" powerplant the new model 401 took to the skies today and rocketed over heard at a blistering 302km/h; Showing off its smart "Milk and Honey" livery
The revolutionary new engine uses 4 totally independent motors to drive a 3 bladed propeller through a DeNobbes 2-step transmission. The pilot and flight engineer are afforded all the latest modern scientific conveniences such as clinometer, air speed indicator and even an electric starter.
Interviewed by the Donkk Gazette in the pub afterwards test pilot Archie Duke said "A chair is best with 4 legs so stands t' reason an engine would be best with 4 crankshafts"
