Welcome to the Beyond Stranded mod.
This is an overhaul of the game Stranded: Alien Dawn. The goal is to add longevity to the game as well as further end game content.

The end goal of the mod is not to be rescued but rather to thrive on this new planet as you rebuild civilization and make a home for your colony.

The setting will be kept close to vanilla even as custom lore is created.

If you own Stranded from another platform other then steam, you can get the mod at the Nexus [www.nexusmods.com] site.

Compatibility
The mods has no overwrites so it should be compatible with any other mod and vanilla scenario/DLC, with the exception of some of the events that might not trigger on certain scenarios.

If you are having issues with the mod, join discord for support, the comment section on steam is disabled due to spam of false reports and lackluster bug reporting.

CONTENT
GAMEPLAY CHANGES
  • Custom survivor events as well as an expedition for you to gather people for your settlement.
  • Mod Option to disable the debuff your survivors receive when rejecting a survivor on our missions.
  • 5 new Schedule Activities for you to manage the time and production of your survivors.
  • A new skill, "Excavation" that is linked to the new building "Mine", where you'll be able to extract minerals from the depths of the planet.
  • New Talk Topics (Banter) for the survivors.
  • New plant and crop.
  • 2 Expeditions to help you achieve breakthroughs that your seed might be missing (We will slowly add all of them, takes time as we have to write the stories and dialogue).
NEW SURVIVORS
  • 19 new Survivors. Each with custom traits, balanced as best as possible yet still unique. Some of the traits will be build upon with the banter system in the game as well as influence other custom activities planned in the future.
NEW FURNITURE
  • Because survival is not enough, we need to thrive!
NEW STORAGES
  • New dedicated storage tiers (Lowest tier implemented so far, couple of models are missing for now), to help you organize your logistics an hoard to your heart's content.
NEW CLOTHING
  • Revisited the base game clothes and created a new tier to improve their durability, sturdy clothing.
    As the modding tools are improved we plan on adding custom rigged models to each of our clothing tiers as well as themed outfits.
NEW WEAPONS
  • Improvised weapons, full-auto rifles, SMGs and even a flintlock, shoot away your problems!

Mod Updates
  • Whenever the update doesn't require a new save I'll say it, for every other update assume you'll need a new save, if you want to keep playing on your old save got to discord and grab one of the previous versions.

Hi all. Bloodworth added me as a contributor to the mod and I'm looking forward to continuing development on it.

For now, first priority is bug fixing. Going to sift through the comments below (which are fairly old) and see what issues are still around.

If you're still actively using the mod and notice bugs, balance issues, quirks, etc., please post them in the Discussion thread above.

excavation is not a task thats done wether or not assigned PX or otherwise.

Ups, hate answering myself, just read the thread about mining - seems that excavation is not bound to the work schedule, so people assigned to work are forbidden to mine.

Assigning them to "any" schedule seems to work. Please fix this in a future update ;)

Excavation/Mine is broken somehow broken for me. After a fresh load of a save, assigned people do it once and then never aqain. I can manually draft them, but they just won't do it automatically again.

Often exactly after people finished excavation job a popup with "Mod related problem detected." shows, but because of it's cryptic nature I can't pinpoint it exactly.

The tech pistol has no icon in the crafting list.

Otherwise I'm really enyoingthe mod, kepp up good work.

Cooking and mining works fine for me, with or without being combined with a batch crafting mod.

cooking is broken, no one can cook anything and so no one can lvl up in cooking, same for mining

Hello
I've played the mod with the new Guardians scenario. Everything went well but unfortunately when the event Emergy Transmission occurs (it should bring a new survivor chased by Consortium) , it just crash to desktop. If I disable the mod everything works fine, so there is a compatibility issue between the mod and Emergy Transmission event.
I want to notice that, with the mod disabled, the new survivor changes. I think it could be something regarding the new pool of survivors introduced by the mod, it seems that the game "picks" one of the Mod Survivors for the event, and this leads to the crash.

I can add a mining animation, but wouldn't make sense since they are supposed to go mine down the shaft, but making them vanish in it just for that is a bit too much doing for not much in return.

I am very much enjoying this mod, the custom assets fit in well, especially the stockpiles. The sturdy clothing is good too! My only nitpick is the excavation, i love the model and mechanic but when the characters are performing the action there is no animation, they just stand there. Is there a way of making them perform the mining animation while excavating? Only a small issue but would really add to the gorgeous mine model
