Bajookieland [Map]

Bajookieland is an island country and possible continent located in the North Atlantic Ocean. It is approximately 5,000,000 square kilometres large, which is somewhere between the size of India and Australia. The country is divided into four territories, each possessing their own capitol. The main capitol of the entire country, Brongulus District, is the largest city and is also considered it's own miniature province, similar to Washington D.C. in the United States. It is also the seat of the Bajookanese government and location of the Empresses palace. The nearest foreign landmass is Newfoundland, Canada.

The Bajookanese are one of the last modern isolationist countries left on Earth. To date, no foreign government claims to have any embassy or mission inside the country of Bajookieland. Their isolationist status is further exemplified by their lack of influence on mainstream Western culture and general mysticism of their language. Despite the rampant globalization of Western influence throughout the 21st century not a single piece of uniquely Bajookanese culture has made its way into the mainstream. This could be a result of the Bajookanese government's tight control on media, with no large social media company reporting operations in the country. Bajookieland is currently ruled by an empress, meaning Bajookieland is or was at one point an imperialist state.

Bajookanese have their own unique language. This is further attested by the oddly-formed names of Bajookielanders like Jongulo, Brongulus, and Bunguloj. Bajookieland has an elder-subservient culture, or at least has adopted one. When a child refuses to eat grumgrum, it's mother may hit them on the head with an implement called a sproingel, which is similar to a spatula. There is a form of ancestor worship in Bajookieland where they venerate the spirits of the dead, confirming that they have a strong sense of familial honor and filial piety. Bajookanese people as wear hats made out of fibers, similar to some ornamental baskets found in homes today. They also sometimes wear a cloak that resembles a blanket. Some famous Bajookieland foods include grumgrum, grumgob, and Bajookanese salad.

I created this map using a gray-scale gps height-map that I made from maps of Bajookieland. It includes accurately placed nature, roads, terrain, water, and buildings. All capital cities in the real Bajookieland are represented, along with most of the villages. The main difference between this map and the real life Bajookieland is it has been highly scaled down to make the whole country accessible.
