描述
The Fox is a devious fighter, dancing in and out of the fray and bringing the might of nature to bear. Wash foes away with powerful jets of water, use mystically-empowered poetry slips to warp the battlefield to your liking, and light your foes aflame with eerie fox-fire - primal power is yours to command!

This mod adds the Fox, a slippery zoning Hustler focused on overwhelming foes with clever setplay and movement-limiting ranged options. This Hustler comes equipped with a full slate of unique moves that should feel right at home alongside the core cast of Your Only Move Is HUSTLE.

Has easily become one of my favorite mod characters to play as. Very fun and requires you to get creative to make the most of it.

So, The Fox, now that I've had more experience playing with them, are pretty good, but I feel like they could use some buffs and nerfs. For one, the Deer Form is apparently overpowered, but I feel like their fox fire, alongside not showing properly in predictions or going in the right directions, has too long of startup. That, and their meter gain is way too slow to be used outside of combos. The illusion part of Kitsune are missing, and I think that Chizuru or Maki or Quince could be a good reference point. Otherwise, they are relatively balanced, though it definitely feels like they're zoning and set-play isn't as connected as they could be, as again, the poetry slips are more for combos.

Their fox fire prediction dosn't show anything, and I think the controls are reversed.

Blue sky, I know they are a kitsune, I was just wondering if they were supposed to be kemonomimi, and why they didn't have any illusion abilities (for mixups), I'd imagine.

Their Deer form is unbalanced, as it is a 6 frame variable guard break, making it incredibly powerful.

If the hanafuda cards and shape-shifting didn't give it away, the Fox is a kitsune - a Japanese-style fox spirit, either kind-hearted or mischievous depending on the individual.

How many tails do they have? Why isn't there illusion magic? Why do they have a fox form if they are already a fox? Are they kemonomimi?

Diegetic indicators of something happening would be cleaner to show when something happens and you gain a Fox-specific resource, if you can't just add a tooltip. Wizard gets a moisture drop when they land a neutral melee attack or score a parry, but it just pops up on the HUD. The requirements for Fox's resources are a bit more specific - get cards from Koi-Koi, Hustle, "Lights," or a parry (forgot that last one until recently), and awaken the mask with "Lights" or "Viewing" - so more obvious in-game indicators would be neat, like a card fluttering when you regenerate your hanafuda or Fox's eyes flashing when the mask lights up. Plus, the Help HUD is only ever used for the universal HUD, so tucking explanations away in there wouldn't accomplish much.
