Dynamic Province Names for the Entire World
Not ironman compatible

The Dynamic Province Names mod for Europa Universalis IV adds diversity and immersion to the game by changing the names of provinces as a nation conquers a city. With a focus on creating unique names for each culture in the game, players can expect to encounter new and unexpected province names as they expand their empire. This mod aims to add an element of interesting surprise, rather than a sense of oddness or unnaturalness, to the game.

This mod also incorporates the Inglis culture, which represents the Middle English province names used in this project. Later on, when the nation of Great Britain forms, all the Inglis provinces owned by what was then England will have English province names, including the ones which are located in France; and also contains some unique province names for all the German and Italian cultures (for example, the Bavarian culture has Bavarian province names, and the same is visible with the Venetian culture).

It is important to note that this mod hasn't been finished. It is being developed.

I'm also not sure, but we're thinking about adding that feature to the mod, if possible. But thanks for the suggestion though!

I think in an older mod that once did the same thing before being abandoned there was an option for a unified Italy and Germany to decide if they wanted to keep using their initial tag's language or the modernized form of them? Not sure how they did it, but I believe that was a thing in Rosetta and Immersive Names before the former was abandoned the latter indefinitely halted?

From now we can't find a way to add that feature in the game, but we might add it to the mod if it's possible to do so

Could there ever be an option to switch from using Italian to Latin and back again for the Papal States, and possibly other Catholic Theocracies as well?

Hi ! I'm a speaker of the Gallo-Romance language known as Lorrain or Romance Lothringian. To be clear : it's not to be confused with Lothringerdeitsch or Alsatian (respectively Middle German and Alemannic).
If you're interested, I could add a few province names and city names in *contemporary* Lothringian/Lorrain.
I however do not have enough knowledge about early modern Lothringian/Lorrain to add names that would fit this historical era, especially given it's the era from which we have the least written sources.
Currently, the language has various different orthographies, that are usually monodialectal and often based on French. I use a supradialectal orthography that is partly based on what we know of the medieval orthographies of the language, in a modernised way ofc, but I also know how to use the other orthographies. I'd be able to add names for Lothringia/Lorraine as a whole as well as for Alsace and maybe for a few French and German cities we have attested exonyms for.

Is this still being updated?

Only the province names, but they also change when any certain country conquers one or more provinces, mostly depending on their primary culture.
Endovelicus 9 月 25 日 下午 7:10
Its just the names of the provinces or the name of the countries get localized to their language too?
