描述
The Crossbarry Ambush (or Battle of Crossbarry) occurred on March 19th, 1921, and was one of the largest engagements of the Irish War of Independence. It took place near the small village of Crossbarry in County Cork, about 20 km south-west of Cork city. About a hundred Irish Republican Army (IRA) volunteers, commanded by Tom Barry, escaped an attempt by about 1,200 British troops to encircle them. During the hour-long battle, ten British troops and three IRA volunteers were killed.

Canada team is the IRA 3rd Cork Brigade, and England team is the British Essex Regiment. Play as either the IRA flying column ambushing then escaping to the north, or the British troops attempting to stop them. This mission uses historical documents to plot the general areas where parts of this battle took place in reality. The British are better reinforced and attack from several angles throughout the mission, therefore this mission has been oriented more towards playing as the IRA brigade. It also features custom squads with loadouts that would resemble what was used in 1921 (like Lee Enfields, Mausers, and revolvers).

Hi, Nice map ! I really enjoy maps & missions from other conflicts than ww2. For improvements, I would say there are some spawn points a bit too far from the action, which makes you run and run for minutes... I would have added few automatic weapons for the Irishmen, and the Bren instead of the Breda (italian MG) for the Englishmen. Thxs again, Cheers,
