Crossbarry, Ireland [Map]

Crossbarry is a small village on the R589 regional road in Innishannon parish, County Cork, Ireland. It is about 20 km southwest of the city of Cork.

The Crossbarry ambush took place in and around this village. It occurred on March 19th, 1921, and was one of the largest engagements of the Irish War of Independence.

This uses a real gps height-map that has been scaled down and smoothed out. It features relatively accurately placed roads, plants, rocks, and buildings that resemble the real village of Crossbarry and the surrounding area.
