描述
A 4K enhancement of everyone's favorite squid chicken. Now with 60% more smell!*

Features:

- All new 4K textures, hand-painted (no AI upscaling)
- Alternative 2003-beta inspired red skin for mappers
- New eyelid & teeth geometry (no more red triangles!)
- Eyelid flexes for posing/scenebuilds**
- Audio SFX or walking/running
- High-res spit decals
- *No smells, consult BMRF HR for voucher.


Known Problems:

- The Bullsquid AI does not move his eyes around. While the shaders are fully functional in Gmod, they're a bit lazy-eyed in-game. Nothing I can do about that, sorry!

- **The eyelids are in a slight squint by default, and also don't close on death. Source™

- When walking on uneven terrain, the Inverse Kinematics (IK) may trigger repeatedly -- causing footstep sound loops. In game, this scenario almost never happens -- but it did occur in testing

- Source doesn't really handle self-shadows on models. At all. In certain lighting conditions, the new teeth may not look spectacular. (#XenNeedsDentists)

- The vertex count on all the teeth is high, but shouldn't cause crashes (standard HLMV will complain about a vertex buffer overflow in wireframe mode)

@Pink Panther, Since the new update this addon doesn't seem to work. Can you please update this mod to work with the new update?

I agree with the comment below this, you can just use the alpha model use these textures and make the eyes green tbh.

could you create an alternative version of this model, moving the bullsquid's eyes sideways like in HL? (I love this model version)

@Vassago Rain, sorry to hear it's causing trouble. I had to do a lot of trial-and-error to figure out how BM uses the world spit decal textures in multiple places, the other being the hands when attacked. I thought I had that issue eliminated, though.

Out of curiosity -- does the problem happen consistently, or only on certain maps? Also, have you tried from a fresh, non-previously saved game state?

This is an amazing mod, but the blood and guts on the player's hands/weapons is completely broken, and more often than not show up as pure white.

@Artemy: Yes, this mod re-institutes footstep sounds for the Bullsquid. These are not the same as the ones that exist in the stock BM directory (I didn't like them very much)

Hi Cellulose is bad Starch, thanks for the feedback.

The best way I would imagine to do that is to decompile this model, decompile the corrected/improved hitboxes Bullsquid model, use the bounding box information from that mod (I think it's in the .qc file, IIRC) -- recompile.

Alternatively, you could also copy the non-eye materials to be used with the default model (the UV maps are identical to the base game's model) -- The teeth, eyelids, inner eyes, won't be present, though.
