Nomads' Land

What's this?

Nomads' Land adds true nomadism. Pawns with the Nomadic trait will become dissatisfied if they stay settled for too long - time to move on, it's getting worse the longer you wait! Nomads are a close-knit group, and experts in animal handling, but lack the construction skills the average villager has.

The mod also adds a Sedentary trait, where satisfaction grows with the age of the settlement, and pawns are more inclined to be good construction workers and agriculture experts, at the cost of a true love of brawling in the town's tavern.

To get started, try one of the new scenarios, which force one (or, for extra spiciness, both) of the traits into your tribe, encouraging a true nomadic caravan or sedentary settler life style.

Support & Compatibility

Visit the official git repo[github.com] for the GPL3 source code and for filing issues like bugs and feature requests against the mod.

Removing from savegames containing Nomadic/Sedentary pawns generates errors in the log but simply removes the traits from the pawns, you can continue with the savegame afterwards. If you have built any of the light pasture fences, gates or pen markers, they will be gone when removing.
Adding or readding does nothing unless you initially select or find/receive new pawns with the Nomadic or Sedentary trait. Might change for when the mod starts adding things like tents.

Nomads' Land does not require any DLC or other mod.

Thanks. I love it. The daughter of my leader was born with nomadic trate. And he gathered a big caravan for her to travel! Nice rpleplay.

Addendum re: Outdoor need: Undergrounders do not have that, but have an Indoor needs meter instead. Might this be new, that your pawns have always either-or?

* The Outdoors need was not a sampling bias from the screenshotting, but is indeed present in my installation. At first I suspected it to be inherited from the lost tribe scenario on which the mod's scenarios are based. However, it does not originate from the mod since it's also present in other scenarios and pawns without the traits, and even in vanilla scenarios when the mod is not enabled. I suspect another mod adds it, but I have no strategy except for deactivating every other mod one-by-one to narrow it down. From the perspective of Nomads' Land, this can't be reproduced. If somebody can repro it for NL per se, please let me know and I'll dig deeper.

@handsomegrape: Getting back to you regarding your questions:
* The dependency on Biotech is suitably weak - in a config without that DLC, the gene stuff is not available ofc, but all other things the mod adds as of v1.0.0 (especially traits and scenario) are. I'll change the documentation to clarify this in the next update.
