描述

Description

Simple lightweight mod that allows you to harvest the Cocoa Tree without destroying it. For balance purposes the yield has been cut in half to 10 (vanilla is 20) however the tree does not need to be replanted and turns to 50% grown after harvest. All settings are configurable in the options menu. (see image below if you cannot find it)

Features

  • Option to allows the user to set the growth % after harvest of a cocoa tree.
  • Option to select cocoa yield at harvest. (range 0 to 1000)

Note: Requires restart after changing settings to take effect.

This works so so because the cocoa tree's age does not get reset when they are harvested so after some time they will all die.

Yup and regular twisted meat for serums can be a thing then because in some cases it's actually kinda hard to get that stuff.

yea second option is better, also that means Tribe people can get bioferrite without torturing monsters.

alternatively, I could make it dependent on the Vanilla Expanded Framework and give it a second resource output thanks to that framework. That's another option. I think I may actually do that.

I've looked into it a bit, harbinger trees spawn bioferrite as a harvestable product and produce twisted meat as a byproduct from chopping them down.

If I made them like the cocoa tree they would be constantly producing harvestable bioferrite, which is something I'm not so sure about being ideal. It makes more sense that it would produce twisted meat as a harvestable imho. But doing so would mean they don't drop bioferrite at all anymore which would be at odds with their description as well.

What are your thoughts? What do you think would be ideal and what would you like to see in a mod that involves harbinger trees?

Harbinger Tree can become poor mans nutrient paste with this, put trash near Tree, gather twisted meat and cook. No need for butchering, no cannibalism. Actually useful Harbinger Trees.

A little late but that's actually an interesting suggestion of making Harbinger Trees drop twisted meat without needing to cut them down.

I know its late, but just for sake of information. Cocoa is TREE, you can't grow trees under roof, colonists will cut them down if you try to roof over them. Also can you make this mod work on Anomaly Harbinger Tree? They would be alot useful.

does this work on 1.5? i just had my cocoa trees grow that i planted in a greenhouse last winter, in the hopes of having a bunch of chocolate to sell for silver, and was bummed that the tree got cut down in the process
