No more fame limit limiting how many crewmembers you can recruit.

Go to Settings -> Advanced Game Options -> Crew/Fame Ratio, set it to Maximum to enable this mod. Please keep in mind that crew will still cost credits.

This mod overrides only the Maximum setting. The other Crew/Fame ratio settings are unmodified. This mod works by setting the minimum and maximum fame to zero. So it's a really simple mod

I made this mod because I like to play with a large fleet, but I also want crewmembers to have at least some cost to them.

Also I wanted to recruit more than 2000 people and with this mod I can.



17 december 2022:
As of patch 0.20.29 the base game has a "Huge Crews" built-in mod added which increases the maximum crew in Career mode to 100000 regardless of fame.
Looks like this mod has become official and is no longer required, thank to the devs!

The brand new official mod changes all difficulty settings and mine only changes the Maximum setting. While the Huge Crews official mod has a limit of a 'mere' 100000 and Unlimited Manpower! has a limit of 100000000 (that's 100 milion crewmembers), I have my doubts this difference will be very relevant :P

I aim to keep this mod up indefinitely and whenever possible will keep bugfixing it, as a service to the people who support me and to prevent future updates from potentially breaking your older savegames. I always try to have good compatibility and flexibility high on my feature list when it comes to my mods.

Updated version number AGAIN to prevent Cosmoteer 0.30.0a from complaining.

Also prepatched this mod to prevent it from complaining again again when Cosmoteer 0.30.0b, 0.30.0c and 0.30.1 are released (sheesh)

Updated version number to prevent the game from disabling this mod.
No other changes.

If using this mod, don't forget to set crew to MAXIMUM or it won't work lol.

For people wondering why this mod exists when there's also the vanilla huge crew mod, it's because this mod predates the huge crew mod and I prefer to keep my mods running for as long as I can.

@Pete1burn: This mod removes the fame limit completely, unlocking the potential to recruit any available crew member provided the credits are there.
To increase the amount of crew available for hire would require remaking all the factions trade stations (and possibly cargo ships) fysically, which is beyond the scope of this mod.

To make your suggestion work, somewhere between 50 and 100 ship files would need to be fysically remade. This mod only makes some textual changes to some of the vanilla code, but doesn't make any changes to the ship files themselves.

The Huge Crew Mod was made after this mod was already released, which is why this mod exists in the first place. So unfortunately this mod is not what you're looking for.

Does this mod increase the number of available crew on a station to recruit, or just increase the maximum cap of crew in a game? The Huge Crews mod takes care of the cap, but I'm looking for something that increases the number of crew on a station to recruit. Thank you.

Version 1.0.2 is identical to 1.0.1 except for the version number.
Updated to get rid of the "not compatible" popup.

I fixed the issue, this mod should functioning normally again (as of writing the game version is 20.27).
Please update to version 1.0.1 of this mod.

The 20.26 patch that was released yesterday might have broken this mod. I noticed only earlier today that it appears to not work anymore (it doesn't cause a crash or anything). I'll attempt to fix this this weekend since I kinda like this mod and I wanna keep using it.
