The Deranged Industries
proudly introduces:
More Efficient Factories.



This is a standalone version of my factory efficiency rebalance.
Do not use with my rebalance mod. The factory changes are included.



Changes:

Note: Some of the provided stats, in the pictures, are incorrect. I have updated the stats in-game, but have yet to update the pictures.

Factory Updates
  • Uranium factories: Now consume 1 Uranium Ore to create 1 Refined Uranium.
  • Diamond factories: Now consume 5 Carbon per Diamond. (was 20)
  • Hyper Coil factories: Now consume 1 Coil and 1/2 Copper Ore per Hyper Coil.
  • Steel factories: Now consume 1/4 Iron Ore per Steel Plate.
  • Coil factories: Now consume 1/2 Copper Ore per Coil.
  • Tristeel factories: Now consume 1/2 Tritanium Ore per Tristeel plate.
  • Processor factories: Now consume 2 Coils, and 1 Gold Ore to create a Processor.

I have not altered ammo factory outputs because they produce a disproportionate amount of ammo from ore in comparison to normal factories, and altering this can directly affect ship builds and combat balance.

What does this mod do that Efficient Factory Production doesn't?
Good question. His mod changes the output per cycle of a factory. My mod changes the input per cycle of a factory.

This means his mod will produce more goods, faster, while mine takes a more, reserved, approach to production.

Wait, his affects factories differently? Does that mean these stack?
Yes, the two mods will stack. You can absolutely use my mod, to consume 1/2 a copper ore to make his mod produce 6 coils. It works, and it's insanely non-balanced...

@WikolSk I had no idea that ETT mod existed let alone this mod would need a patch for it. So, at current, no. I will update the description if that changes.

Hi just asking will there be ETT (Extended Tech Tree) patch? I would really like that to be a thing! Mby also tiberium factories? :P

@Rabbit Could you provide me the list of mods you're using? I cannot replicate the crash you're dealing with locally.

I don't know if its the mod being "outdated" according to the game or a conflict with another mod but every time I launch the game it crashes and the log points to this one specifically:steamsad: and the game works after disabling it. last time i played it worked fine with my current mod set, it was before the chain gun update:steamsad:

I actually use the other one storage mod, not the Optimal Storage. But I think the result will be the same, actually. The other mod has a limiter on resource drop from destroyed/scavenged parts and it is increadibly useful that it is there - I changed it back to 100% once and was swamped by thousands of bullets. Game lagged and stuff took over 5 minutes on 8x to pickup.

Huh, thanks mate. I was about to write that you shouldn't bother, because yours mod does more stuff and mine just overrides vanilla for rebalance, but... well, seems like it is a good thing you did checked :)

@sir Evans @Good_Oatmeal. I checked, we both took very different approaches to our factory mods. They should stack, and not override one another. I also don't think the free ammo will interfere with my mod as I don't actually change any of the vanilla ammo factories.
