Escape From Black Mesa - 'Fluorescent'

描述
A map made for the Lambdabuilds "Escape From Black Mesa" competition.

This map was made in less than a month and I happily present it to you. It's about 15 minutes long and primarily a puzzle map. I hope you enjoy the map.

Currently, it appears that the upload is missing it's nodegraph file. This causes an A.I. Disabled message to appear when reloading saves. Couldn't really complete the map with it being broken.

Keep getting A.I. Disabled bug on this map after re-loading saves. Couldn't finish.

Also, I do not know if the author adjusted the puzzle later on, but for the ramp puzzle you can just pick the blue box up with interact and carry it to the desired area.

You can trigger the placing of the switch on the sparking box in the first area with any object. Which means I got it to trigger with the cone, the stack of cones and even the broken gibs of the vent cover. xD

Hey Marvius, I just played your map and wanted to say that I really enjoyed it. I thought the puzzles were very different and more difficult then other maps, which was great! I don't like when the puzzles are too simply and had to think/try different things for this one. I see some criticism on the comments below but I generally do not agree with them - that's probably just players who got stuck with the first puzzle. Overall, I think it was a great entry with great ideas and the map had a nice ambience to it. Well done

Overall, I think this entry had some nice ideas, but flawed execution in places! The first puzzle was quite obtuse and obnoxiously tight. I liked the way you flowed around the various spaces, however. But they were rather lacking in detail. There were a couple of creating and interesting puzzles, which I enjoyed.

I would focus on your detail and theming. Most of the spaces were just blank rooms. I would also think about layering some puzzles, rather than each puzzle being one simple idea. Overall, I think this was a decent effort though!

To anyone wondering how to do the first puzzle: You have to time it. Go to the door, open it, run away immediately as it starts rising, then flip the switch to get power to the button and run back inside before the door closes.

i don't know if i am just stupid or messing up the puzzle, or if it is part of the puzzle, but I think something is wrong. I found the switch in the dumpster, but now I can't open the mesh gate to the security door without enabling no clip. Is the fence door apart of the puzzle or no?

Not a clever idea to make a puzzle that relies on a written note and having to pick up an object that you can't normally pick up. Got stuck on that part for ages.
