Vanilla Bosses Remade

描述

Vanilla Bosses Remade is a mod that attempts to overhaul most vanilla bosses (master mode changes included) to be more interesting and engaging, suitable and intended as a side addition for other major mods.

Each overhaul can be disabled in the config, so you can pick or drop whichever ones you want.

This is compatible with MOST mods as long as they don't alter the same things that this mod does.
This mod only changes boss AI, their minions, their vanilla projectiles, and natural spawns (which can also be disabled).

Also works in multiplayer! (mostly)

Currently, this mod reworks:
  • King Slime
  • Eye of Cthulhu
  • Eater of Worlds
  • Brain of Cthulhu
  • Queen Bee
  • Skeletron
  • Wall of Flesh
  • Queen Slime
  • Destroyer
  • Twins
  • Skeletron Prime
  • Plantera
  • Golem
With more to come!

Things to note:
Most bosses, projectiles, and minions DO NOT deal contact damage unless they are specifically dashing/ramming you. This is to make fights more melee-friendly.
Most entities that are translucent can be safely passed through without taking damage.

Feel free to leave feedback and report bugs in the comments (and put the difficulty you're on too). I work slowly and only check comments when there's another update coming soon. I'm the only person making this.

Planned features (Within the next couple of updates):
  • Tweaks/bugfixes to current reworks
  • Duke Fishron

What I will NOT rework:
  • Event bosses
  • Deerclops (Not interested in crossover content)
  • Empress of Light (I don't have much to consider for her)

Known bugs/Incompatibilities (Not exhaustive)
  • Calamity on Rev+ - Still functional together, but almost none of my mod's changes appear due to how Calamity implemented their changes
  • Soul Mod Eternity Mode - Untested, but assume like above
  • TRAE boss reworks - Some bugs, similar to above
  • Mech Bosses Rework - May work weird with certain config options, otherwise fine
  • Eater of Worlds is invincible after a segment is killed - This is intentional behavior. He transitions into phase 2 after a majority of the segments are "killed", but if he stays invincible and not transition then there is a mod conflict

another thing is that the difficulty should be a little more consistent, and Plantera is relatively easy compared to the nightmare fuel that is The Twins

My main criticism about the mod is the sprites and attack indicators. I understand using sprites already present in the game, but the low-resolution sprites look very strange when compared to the well-polished fights, such as the lasers of the mechanical bosses, WoF projectiles, and the Queen Slime and King Slime, as well as the indicators that could have more visual relevance to the attack they are indicating, such as the queen bee attack, which is just bees but uses an indicator that looks like a laser. The same goes for EoC and so on.

maybe its my modlist, but the Eater of Worlds fight is quite laggy, my FPS go from 60 to around the 40's when he appears on screen, didnt use to do that in the previous version.

it takes a mod to make the twins things out of your night terrors? thats interesting they are the deadliest mechanical boss by far and are responsible for tons of deaths per playthrough even in vanilla.

but any rework mod exists to make already difficult bosses more difficult (and flashy) the twins are not exempt from that so by nature any mod that touches them is going to turn them into nightmare fuel difficulty wise (whether its this mod, mech bosses rework, infernum, or even base calamity/fargos.)

you're right! I found it incompatible with the TREA project mod, only with the brain of cthulhu, of how both mods conflict with their changes.
Tmodloader said it’s because this mod is out of date but now I've learned that it's just wrong!
